Computer Build for WoW

I know i posted another thread asking about video cards and other stuff. But i'm thinking whether i should just get a new computer. So since my Bday/Xmas is coming up i wanted to create a list of parts to build a computer that would be able to run 1 WoW with 50+ FPS generally. Because atm i'm usually around 10-30 FPS (depending on the zone) and i just want to run a single WoW better.

So if anyone can come up with a list of parts that could do this while being as cheap as possible, because remember, i don't need a monster of a computer to run 30+ WoW at 60+FPS. I just need a computer to run a single WoW better than what i can do now. I wouldn't be asking for this if i knew anything about computer parts but clearly i don't and i'd prolly get mismatching parts and completely screw it up. So a computer that can run 1 wow with 50+FPS all the time (depending on situation) without reducing video settings a lot that is as cheap as possible!! This doesn't mean with all maxed out settings at 50 FPS, i'd have all the video intense settings low/off (shadows/water etc)

Current Specs:
MotherBoard - The MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2)
Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
Physical Memory - 3 GB (2.00 GB 800MHz/1.00GB 666 MHz)
Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2.61 GHz)

The picture i added is a SS of my video settings and at those settings i only average 10-30 FPS.

Something the person will need to know if they are going to help you:
They would need to know if you want to add to the current PC you have, OR build an entire new one from scratch.

If you want to add to the current PC they would have to know a lot of details on it for example what motherboard it has.
 
Well i guess it depends, if my motherboard is good enough to support the new stuff that will allow what i want then just add on but if not, then a new one. Sec ill grab my specs.
 
I was able to run 1 wow on an ati 4850 HD 512 mb ram video card.

i recently upgraded to an ati 5770 HD 1gb ram video card (ddr5). it was ~150$ on newegg. I can run wow on low settings at 300 fps, ultra settings (minus shadows) ~50 fps in dalaran (make sure you SET gxAPI"d3d11" in config.wtf for full experience. I also have a hi-def wow folder just for it.)

comp is 2ghz ati duo core 4 gb ddr 2 (my botting setup i moved to another comp for now)

I dont know if I understand fully, are you trying to build a new computer or update the existing one. I build a high end comp fot about 1700$ Intel i7 930, 12gb ram, SS Hard drive, top of the line mobo/case/coolant, and 2nd best graphics card, HAF 932 case, huge heat sink on cpu. The big money hogs are the processor, graphics card, and memory. I am not a computer guru by any means but your specs leads me to believe your memory is your biggest bottle neck, having random mixtures of slots is bad, very bad. Next would be processor, then graphics card. Honestly all in all new comps can be build for about 1k

My comp can run 1 copy at about 140-200 FPS (I am not overclocking) (overclocking the i7 930 from 2.8ghz to 4.0ghz stable is very very easy and i can run at soluid 200fps) windows loads in 20 -25 seconds from power on to running programs
I run 6 bots all downsized to fit on my one monitor and each frame stays at 150 when going and I sit at 30% physical memory usage with 6 copies of wow and 6 bots and w/e else I happen to have running in the backround, usually music, web browser, torrent, etc
 
Again, if my motherboard supports the new parts then ill just upgrade it, but if i can't ill just build a new comp. I don't need a super expensive crazy computer like yours, just one that runs at ~50 fps with good video settings, because atm i'm at 'Fair' settings at ~10-30 fps and i want to bump this up to 50 fps for as cheap as possible. If i can do this by replacing a memory with a matching type/new CPU/video card that would be great.

What i want out of this thread is what i have to change to Run a SINGLE WoW at ~50 FPS with better video settings than i have now for as cheap as possible.

You're missing the most important part of your question: What's your budget?

With tha told hardware I'd recommend you throw away (or eBay) your old hardware and "start from scratch"

That will make a perfect botting computer for bots and bots only -- if you're starting from scratch.

if you just want a new video card... its cheap

Well since i just got done building mine this afternoon and havent really had a chance to show it off or share yet i might as well tell on here!!! :) Make me feel better anyways so i dont have to wait til tomorrow to show my friend!

I got
-ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3: MoBo
-ATI Radeon 5870 from XFX: Graphics card
-AMD Phenom II 6-Core 1090T Black Edition: Processor
-Thermaltake Element G Case w/ Thermaltake 850W Power Supply
-ADATA XPG v2.0 4GB DDR3-2000 which clocks at 9-11-9-27: RAM

That is it! purchased everything and put together myself and saved a ton (about $1300 total all from newegg and tigerdirect)!!!!! (obviously i left out minor components but you get he point) I havent had a chance to test it on wow yet but it is a HUGE upgrade from my old unit and i was getting about 35 fps in dal on high settings on my old one so i assume this should push well over 50! Hope that helps! BTW i recomend AMD if you couldnt tell ;)

I can't really say what my budget is, i guess it really depends. All i need is a computer to play WoW better than what i can now with settings at 'High' and 50+ FPS. Pretend you guys are building yourself a comp and you just need 1 wow and it needs to be as cheap as possible. What parts would you get?

ahem, let me highlight in red what I was stating. I have a hi-def folder for wow that i set d3d11. So therefore if i need to bot, i still have my "low settings" folder with d3d9

I don't say "yummy".

The first problem is that it is a notebook , the GPU in that notebook is a 5870 not a 5890.
Finally... the SSD setup is bad, especially if you own your own shop and do not understand what you are selling.

Let me explain; SSD in raid means the TRIM commands can't get passed through to the drives. The storage controller then can not distinguish the separate drives, this will lead to you drives slowing down because it will see it as a single drive.


Now back on subject. My advice to ANYONE looking to upgrade their machine is simply to wait. Intel lift their non disclosure agreement on the 9th Jan 2011, this means we will see what is due out in regards to the new Sandybridge architecture. For those interested in the boards for this new range then take a look at the ASUS 1155 Maximus IV Extreme and the Asus 1155 TUF Sabertooth P67.
In all seriousness I can not stress how wise it would be to save up a bit more money and wait for this new range to come out.
 
Something like this, would be my choice. I would add 2-4GB RAM thou, it might be a bit overkill, but you'll probably be able to play on Ultra with high fps.

first upgrade to a 64 bit OS. upgrade your video card and double your ram. or ditch everything and upgrade it all.

Also, in addition to what exfelon mentioned, you should use matched RAM not random sticks because your system will run at the slowest stick.
