Clearing an Act

Hi,

I just had the following situation:

Friend of mine is Act 2 (Q8) and asked me to get him to Act 3.

I created a game Act 2 Q10 - invitied him and we killed belial and completed the Quest. In Act 3 (on top of the tower) he left the game in order to check if it went as we wanted to. He changed quests, started a new game and after that could not choose Act 3. Last Quest he could choose was Act 2 Q10.

What did I miss?
 
How far into act 3 did you get? i think you have to go to town and pick up the quest to light the fires for credit.
 
Did it again, went into town to reach a checkpoint. Left the game and changed quest -> could choose Act 3 Quest 1 second part (not begin quest, the one after). Changed to an Act 2 quest -> Act 3 was gone
 
it instantly came up when we moved to Act 3 and talked to tyrael on the roof. Didnt finish it tho or went to the combat area (dont know how to describe, but I guess you know what I mean) just into town. So yes
 
Must be a bug, I'd recommend posting something on the official D3 forums. I guess just finish the first quest and try that :/
 
yea already a thread there with the same bug. maybe I will just try to get him to Act 4
 
btw is it necessairy to complete the whole (last) quest? or can it be the last part of the quest (e.g. Act 3 heart of the sin -> kill azmo)
 
Remember to always play up to a Checkpoint when you skip acts and quests. Otherwise you'll have to start over.

Example: You get a friend to help you kill Azmodan in act 3, finish the quest, and log out; You'll have to kill him again to get to act 4.

However, if you kill Azmodan then move to the first Checkpoint in act 4 you'll be able to continue from there.

is there a minimum level for hell? like lvl 60 for inferno?
 
I actually jumped a char up to act 3 yesterday. My friend created a game for the first quest in act 3, we cleared the first quest and it saved it for me. Only takes a couple minutes.
