New to honor buddy but been around since Vanilla WoW. Any suggestions on classes? Looking for a class that really shines with the bot. Will probably gather for mats, raid, and try out arenas. I almost always tank on my main but am open to either dps or heals since tanking is not recommended with HB.

Appreciate any feedback

I've leveled nearly all classes with the bot. It basically depends on the Combat Routine you use. But I'd recommend a paladin with tuanha CC. Or even a shaman -Any dps spec-. You'll understand why after you try hehe.
Gluck!

Tanking is highly recommend on HB, that my opinion.

I was bored yesterday and try to tank adds on Garrosh... full of Timeless gear with 500 k hp, I queued as tank on my Monk... at first people want to kick be because the gear is sick, but we down him 1st try, healer say I'm the best tank ever because cooldown usage is just perfect and there no mob lose aggro on raid xD

I was so brave to join as tank too because TBH I never tank anything for months -.-

Hi,

Firstly who says tanking is not recommended with HonorBuddy? I use TuanHa's CRs and I tank at a high level. Granted you need a CR that you can tune -so you are in control of interrupts, CC and taunts as well as CDs. But otherwise a correctly tuber CR will automate your stagger, blood shields etc etc and effectively take a lot of stress and clicks away from tanking; letting you concentrate better in the job at hand.

To better answer your question:-

Try a Monk, the healing spec -Mistweaver -is very different from other healing classes; essentially a mix of combat and traditional healing spells to generate your resources.

TuanHa's Monk CR is my recommendation and it performs very well in healing as well as tanking; and can do both roles within PVP and PVE so it's one CR for all your needs. Only caveat is that the healing CR (25 man) is quite CPU intensive; disable FrameLock and set TPS as you need ~15 to 60 as your system can handle.

Good luck!!

EDIT: lol TuanHa replied too -honestly I am not a spokesman for TuanHa lol -it's just a happy coincidence hehe!

Ive also been arround since Vannila and only just turned too HB as a new source of enjoyment in game a couple months back. Tuanha's CCs are indeed good, But not gonna lie as my main was a lock for all these years im biast towards Warlock, Very Consistant in Arena ladders, Always holds its own in raids and as for the lvling experiance, ive lvled every class, Warlock is still simply the most enjoyable ^^ So it will come as no surprise too anyone that i recommend Going with Millz - Demonic for an amazing allround warlock Boting experiance, Also if you have a Warrior laying arround as its pretty much Flavour of the month atm, Give Richies warrior CR a go for pvp and FuryUnleashed for your PvE needs, again you wont be dissapointed, And rolling any class Tuanha has a CC for is just a good move, Millz - Tuanha - Richie are very active on the forums, Consantly taking advice and suggestions and giving top Tech support ^^

But again as a lock, i just have too say, Millz - Demonic ftw

(Im sure all the other CR programmers are just as nice and helpfull as Tuanha, Millz, Richie, i just have most exp with these guys, they have seen me right ^^)

Have to say, for a first post, I am greatly impressed by the constructive replies. Your input has completely changed my direction and I will gladly try tanking with HB. How difficult is the learning curve for applying HB to the tanking role in game, as an assist? I am torn between Monk or DK for the role.

What class do you tank with Tuanha?

Go with a class that has great CR-support, I'd advice you to play warrior simply because I love that class, but the CRs (for PvE) available are just not good enough imho.

So I'd choose whatever class you prefer that are currently supported by Tuanha, not only are his CRs working really well and has great support, but they are also for all specs, meaning you're not frozen in any particular spec.

I primarily use Retribution Paladin and Unholy/Blood Deathknight for afk botting. (I'm unholy up to level 65, blood can be a bit slow up to that point)
Both work great with default combat routine and both have excellent self healing.

If I control the character myself, I pretty much stick to Tuanha's combat routines.

For warrior I use Fury Unleashed, which in my opinion has the best player controls of any combat routine.
When setup, the keys for cooldowns/AoE/etc responds instantly, which I have not seen anywhere else. They claim it, but when I try it almost never works.

The classes I've that the worst experience with is clothies, I just can't seem to get it leveling with a lot of dying. :)

Aye, I have been working on a hunter on a new account without heirlooms or gold and he just keeps getting owned with the default quest gear :p

Then you are doing something wrong. Hunters are the ones that level fastest. I just started two new accounts, leveld hunters to 55 to be able to create DK's.

Ran them frost up to 90, switched to blood (questgear from Kun-Lai Summit), let them loose on Timeless Isle with crappy questgear to farm Timeless BoA gear for the chars I plan to level up on the accounts and the combo of BrodieMans plugin to grind Timeless and Singular was amazing, my crap geared Blood DK's was kicking ass in Firewing Ruins from the moment they hit 90.

I have managed to get both accounts mules with 7 bankspots using Nethereweave bags full of leather, cloth, mail and plate BoA's in less then a week, running the DK's with LogMeOut plugin set to run until bags were full.

HB is just fricking amazing! Will start leveling up other classes on my 2 new accounts now. LazyBox will do the job for me in no time :)

Eh, I was sub-20 but I kept on checking on the bot and found myself running back to rez, getting mobbed by 3+ mobs, dying. /repeat

I just manually got past those parts. Assuming this didn't happen to you?

Nope, just checked one of my level 55 hunters, playtime like 28 hours (all questing with kicks), total of 25 deaths.

Hmmm, I keep on finding my hunter dead in Redridge currently. Tell me if I am missing something:
Load kicks profile
Set to buy food
Set up talents
enable following plugins: antidrown, autoequip, profile helper, refreshment detection, talented2
Bot has 4x14bags
Bot is setup to mail if bags full to another toon
-
The three times I have seen this happen is the bot keeps on going back to a quest hotspot that has 3+ mobs and gets owned. /repeat
Or in redridge the bot would walk in the middle of all those dogs and aggro them by the lumber shack, rez there, aggro. /repeat

You have to make it dismiss the pet or it will keep doing that. It's a profile problem for classes that use pets. Just dismiss the pet and get the thing.

Monk its normal class.
Tuanha Monk its by far best class for anything

I get 2100 on 2vs2, on BGR Im the flag carrier because its impossible kill him with the awesome use of self healing, on PvE like Tuanha says you, you can tank that you want, with poor gear, you can done all SoO, in grinding its too a machine, just pick a profile from EchoTiger in Gold mode rush, the monk instantdelete all :D , for leveling of course you will dont have any problems with him, the only thing its worse than another class its on farming, cause droods has instantmount, but for general use if you only want one allin1 toon , try monk with tuanha CR.

Otherwise I talk about general use, if you wanna center in only one thing, like only gather, take a drood, if you only want leveling speed take a hunter, if you only want grind instances take a DK

This... or just do that quest manually... your hunter will most likely head of to Duskwood after done with this quest.

And I never go 100% afk ... I uslally have my bots running while I do other stuff... From work I monitor them with Teamviewer, at home I check on them whenever I can.

Death Knight is certainly more forgiving than Monk, and the easiest to bot 'out of the box'.

I would definitely recommend you try DK.

Monk, long term, is a highly 'mobile' tank, eats melee encounters for breakfast (and asks for seconds!) and also has the Healer off spec -so you will be in demand!

Monk tanking, in general, has a much steeper learning curve just because it is unique in its tanking mechanics, namely Stagger. From personal experience, it is also very 'squishy' until you've learnt the art of Purifying brew, keeping Shuffle up as well as Guard and of course Elusive Brew. The good news is that TuanHa's CC automates all those damage mitigation abilities for you!

But still, DK is hard as nails and easy to 'beast'. It's also a very good class for PVP and solo'ing old Raids.

All CCs will require you to fine tune them to your item level and stat weights. But most importantly, for tanking, you will want to disable any automation of taunts. So with DK disable Gorefiend's Grasp, Death Grip and Dark Command; you should control these manually. Some CCs (namely TuanHa) will give you automation of interrupts... while this is cool, I disable them because I like control over these too -otherwise an interrupt can be cast on a less important spell than the other. For example, Wolf Rider in Garrosh raid -you do not interrupt his Chained Lightning spell (doing so will speed his future casting), instead you want to interrupt his Healing spell. So... that's the kind of stuff you want to be in control of, and that's essentially it for botting with TuanHa -control your interrupts and taunting yourself.

Good luck!
