class aoe settings

can someone explain what exactly do the adjustable settings do?

monster aoe is whats listed, then our settings are radius and health vs each spell.

also, there is an "attempt to avoid" aoe on the main combat tab. if this is unchecked, does it nullify the class specific settings?

I'd also like to know what exactly this option means. Does it maybe refer to enemy spells, so avoid aoe means avoid puddles of fire etc? A clear answer would be great.
