Hi there!

I am thinking about moving operations to another server. The server I'm in is ok, but really low population and it's really difficult to sell anything at the AH, so making gold is difficult. Probably I will keep my main account there because it's where my RL friends play and moving servers would imply moving faction as well so I wouldn't be able to join them eventually not even cross-server.

Anyway, I see many pros and cons in both kind of servers but I would like to ask about your experience: What servers work best in terms of money making? High population means more market, more clients, but also more competitors. Means you can mix with the crowd so you are less noticed, but more chances of someone reporting as well... Seems pretty balanced, but I would like to know your opinion as well.

Thanks, and happy botting!

Well things swing all ways given the state of different pop servers.
But you know you don't have to rely on the AH to make about 15-20k a day anyway?

You mean with the inscription shoulder enchants?

medium population.
you need ENOUGH that things sell but not too many that people notice the seller repeatedly and get pissed off.
also need (prefer) an EU one, where the watch is lsightly less than that of the U.S one

Eh, a little bit of this is based (IN MY OPINION) on your intent.

If you wish to sell -
  • A high populated server may have high turn around - but, where there are many players, there also will be much competition.
  • On a low populated server, there isn't the same amount of players - but there is the gamble that there will be. With this gamble, you are able to build a majority with hope to sell - this can be risky, too, if the hammer comes calling.

Medium-high would be a good choise. Sometimes Medium servers are empty and you don?t want to bot on empty server because you are easier noticeable

Based on my experience Medium populated servers are preferable. Good prices, not too much undercutting, not too many players out in the world. What you should take in consideration as much as which server is which faction. The horde/alliance ratio can determine everything for you. In theory you can have an alliance character on a High Populated server, but still never sell a thing, if 90% of the players on your server are hordes.

find a med pop server with a few high end raiding guilds, they'll eat your herbs/ore up
