Remember you need to have a starter account first. I have been having issues with the five dollar battle chest. No matter my payment method it gets rejected even on different payment and ip. If it doesn't work, I just purchased some battle best keys so you don't have to wait for the trial to kick over to battle chest, usually takes 24 hrs. This means you can start raf almost instantly. I get these keys from g2a for a little under 8 dollars.

id guess its more of a money move for blizz rather than controlling botters. Blizz offers accounts for 5usd for a couple weeks. leak the link on the forums. we buy thousands of new accounts while blizz knocks us down. then they raise the price to 10usd [which is still 50% off] while we buy and rebuild our farms.

they get the rush of sales at 5usd. which costs pennies because they know the accounts arent going to last very long.
then they get the rush of the sales at 10usd while we replace our farms.

they create a product, create the market, control the sales. they tax us at every turn.
