Cata Gold Inflation

Anyone have any good ideas to combat the gold inflation we will see in Cata? Conservative calculations on gold drops and questing in beta show there is a 30% increase in gold earned per time. That means our current gold should take a pretty fast 30% devaluation.

I don't sell gold and I am sitting on pretty good nest egg around 500k. I have read on countless websites ways to combat the problem by keeping your gold tied up in materials and other rare items. I find it very hard to justify buying any materials that will go up in value as less people farm them in cata and the need is still there to level professions (ie leather, herbs, enchanting mats) because I can literally log on to HB/GB and farm till my heart is content. I am however contemplating keeping more of these items in stock in guild banks.

I guess the best solution would be to cash my gold out now at current prices and resume the grind again in cata. However the purpose of my botting is to feed my addiction and not driven by making RL gold.

I know alot of members botted through previous X-pans and your insight would be most welcome.

Thanks

I dont think it will be the same amount of re-rollers this time as there used to be with the 2 other expansions (due to the fact that generally ppl seem to think 1-80 is allready a huge task). I rather think Blizzard will make A LOT of doe on the "change race" feature. So my prediction is that mats will not be drastically more expensive after next patch as it has been after other expansions.

Tho im not a gold seller, this is only from what ive seen ingame. During past 2 expansions.

I made some research and g inflation will be about 10%, but golds resources in cata missing ... price of golds will be same or little higher in my opinion

Tons of ppl will reroll.
Change race obv. won't be availabe for the new races, at least for the beginning months.

I'd invest in mats and rare goods, but as u already mentionned, who cares as we can just farm our asses away once we need cash/mats or whatever.

I too bot only for my personal pleasure and comfort as i have a huge honey-do-list. job, family, other hobbys so botting makes my WOW experience just less timeconsuming while still beeing able to enjoy the pro's about this game, running random raids and inis and just hanging out with friends while i don't have to bother about farming mats/gold etc but still have top stuff. It's just hillarious if u can skill any profession u like in one evening or send your rl friends masses of mats. (ofc they know i bot)

With Cata coming i just continue my daily routine. I run GB twice a week over night which grants me about 8k a week for doing nothing at all. Thats enuff to cover my needs.

If u are a goldseller, well i wouldn't worry about it either. Demand for gold at the beginning of Cata will drastically go up as loads of newcomers, ppl that have frozen accounts and no gold etc will want to get gold to get in the flow of things again as quickly as possible.

Then, after the expansions settled down, prices will shurely drop, but then again, we will be able to farm more gold so it will balance itself out.

the first week of cata will be the most crucial -- best thing to do is get your coffers up now and sell the day of / after cata.
