Can't use AB anymore due to .Net 4.6.1 will not install.

I have installed .net 4.6 no problem, have all updates through Windows update, but no matter what I do I can not get .net 4.6.1 to install. I am using Windows 8.1 and also have VMware installed, but not running AB under VMware, I am not sure if VMware is causing problems, but haven't tried to uninstall it yet. If anyone knows how to fix this with installing .net 4.6.1 please let me know, or Out could you please reduce the required version to 4.6 since I was able to install that.

Tried the offline installer, its just 4.6.1 is a buggy peace of shit, Out should not be using it. Like to be using AB again but who knows how long it will be before they fix the installer.
 
I had issues with the web installer, it seemed like it was hanging so I stopped it a few times. The Offline installer was a bit slow as well but went through quicker. Slow yes, POS.. probably more your computer than anything to do with 4.6.1. Do agree that this early of adoption is probably not wise.
 
visual studio probably just used it on him since it would have dled it probably but who knows.
As for problems with .net installers if you have ever purged your packages in windows to make room ie purged old updates it might effect being able to update to next version as well as it look for the old installer to install new one as well for some reason for most things in windows that is.
