I know we can't purchase new keys because of the injunction, but can we upgrade an existing one and pay later? ...Or even pay now, its not distributing, because I already own a copy, its simply giving me a different log-in key to authorize 3 sessions.

Dude, no stop asking, they dont risk such thing for anything..

By your inability to write a coherent sentence, you clearly don't understand the position they're in. If they "dont risk such thing for anything.." they wouldn't have brought the NAV servers back online. I posses a key, which I'm entitled to use... Simply enabling 3 sessions for the key isn't "distribution" because they're all tied to an account of a product I've already purchased.

Upgrading an active Key to Multisession or even more than 3 Session would be the same as if you purchased an addtional license. Therefore it would count as an act of sale and it would be ciriticaly fined with quarter million €.
Just be cool and wait

It's very simple. You just don't wanna understand. DB team not gonna risk anything. If nav servers are up with german filter it's because they're sure they won't get in trouble by doing this.

You own one session, if they upgrade it if you pay or even if they do it for free, they are still giving out more access to the bot, which they won't do.

You obviously don't understand how they came to the conclusion of being able to operate the NAV servers... They simply asked their lawyer; this is another instance. Using Microsoft's Volume Licensing agreement as an example: If I purchased a Windows 7 key and wanted to install the product on multiple PC's I would be required to buy additional licenses, but they're essentially tied to the original key. I can't start buying PC's, installing the software with my business licenses and resell them, because they're not full copies and are only authorized for use by the original licensee.

Yeah, they were ordered to halt distribution, not licensing as far as I know.

They can't distribute anything because they operate within Germany, but they can allow already existing customers to access their servers as long as those customers are not German. I'm sure they already consulted numerous lawyers and they have decided to not increase any sessions or sell any more keys, so they obviously aren't going to listen to some anonymous smart aleck on the forums.

If you upgrade, you will have to pay for it, that means they will receive some cash. That means one is a buyer and one is a seller. I guess you've missed the jail time or fee owner will have to pay if he will sell DB nowadays.

Your inability to understand IT IS NOT FUCKING WORTH THE RISK TO THEM. Its simply unfathomable how ,much personal greed and stupidity you have. If you have 1 key, they upgrade it to a multi key pass. This is DISTRIBUTION of more copies. If you do not understand this I would pity you but you really are to naive to even bother with.

Edit -
Anyway to do a multi quote post without having to copy / paste them?

Critical thinking isn't being a smart aleck. Just because someone is a professional in their field doesn't mean all the topics of discussion/answers are readily available. That's why they're part of teams and have partners to present ideas that may not have come to mind. Although as mentioned; said/existing customer would still be accessing their server, just entitled to use additional instances.

If they enabled unlimited access it wouldn't be considered distribution, the only reason why they have keys in the first place is because they're a business and want to make money off their product. To reiterate; if they sold it as a stand alone product... there would be no NAV server to communicate with and you can run as many instances as you wish.

Look the reality of it is simply no. As much as you try to argue that it technically is not a new distribution of the product it actually is. Whether or not it's tied to the first key does not even factor into this. Simply the DB team has been ordered not to sell or distribute new copies of the bot. It being tied to a previous account or not it is still considered distribution. The face heavy fines/jail time if they do so simply be patient and wait for the updates on their legal situation.

You aren't thinking critically at all. Distribution means giving people who don't have access access to their software. It says they aren't allowed to sell OR distribute, that means that they can't just give it out for free. Yes, they are a business, but they can't even give it away for free because they are banned from doing so currently. Anyone with common sense would realize that.

In other words, you aren't going to get any extra sessions of Demonbuddy, and your only option to bot on multiple accounts is to go somewhere else or buy keys off someone else, but you cannot gain access in any way, free or paid, from them for use of the software.

You're a fucking idiot, what if they said "fuck it" and enabled an all access stand alone program with the next patch? Nothing has changed, they just gave away/made their product open source. What happens thereafter wouldn't reflect on them.

They would be fined.

"Distribution" is not licensing, and licensing is not "technically" distribution. It may seem that way, because you're probably thinking "I'll share my key with a buddy" which legally you're not suppose to be doing as a licensee, but at the same time multiple sessions are probably tied to the same IP as the first when you sign in anyway, so it wouldn't be possible.

To add: I'm simply trying to give them ideas/questions to ask their lawyers, it never hurts to ask, and everybody has something to gain.

I'm sorry, but are you an expert on German law?

I don't really understand the point you are trying to make. You bought a trial of the product. Trial is over. If they give you access now it would be a separate transaction which they have stated they cannot do and justifiably so. If you don't think blizzards lawyers, which are probably some of the most knowledgeable on the particular subject, wouldn't be able to use this against the buddy team I'm not sure what to tell you. I would imagine the buddy team prefers to do what their lawyers believe is right vs what you think is legally acceptable.
