Can't get Gatherbuddy to connect since 4.0

I can't get Gatherbuddy to connect to the authentication server any more. I can connect to the forums and log in... but Gatherbuddy will just sit there and fail to connect. This has been a consistent problem since the release that was to work with WoW 4.0. I've tried running this as both a standard user, and running as Administrator -- neither worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are using 1.7.4.1 release 2, correct?

Yes. 1.7.3 and 1.7.4r2 both gave the same results.

have you configured your firewall to let gb through?

I solved the problem.

It wasn't a firewall issue -- I had tried both an exeption on the windows firewall as well as outright disabling the firewall.

However... my network has an HTTP proxy (squid) running, that intercepts any http or https traffic going through my router. Gatherbuddy apparently couldn't connect through the proxy.
