So i decided that i wanted my battlenet account to be erased, deleted, canceled, call it whatever you want. As there is no option for account closure on the user side, i contacted their customer support via ticket and kindly asked them to close my account. The answer was as puny as their canned-response filled minds "we don't handle such requests via customer support. please send a LEGAL letter to: ... " and gave me an address in France. This must be some kind of a joke, i mean, come on, you don't allow me to erase MY account, but your support can't do that either??

What is a legal letter by the way?
Any other workaround to get my account closed?
 
The reason is in the first post. I'm bothered because i am not allowed to close my account, and neither can they do this for me. The stupidity of this situation has no limits. They should allow account closure options. I mean, wtf, i did not sign for an identity card right, so i can't get it erased now . Just a freaking game account. Why should i go through the trouble of delivering a legal letter to France for just a game account?
 
Yeah, it is just a "freaking game account". I can't believe you're even bothered by this.
 
why don't u just strip it from your phone number and paypal, and let it take up blizz's server space

I know what you mean.. Its annoying as hell. You cant remove the phonenumber attached to the account, without adding another phonenumber.
 
The only thing that matters for a phone number is SMS protect if you're going to use the RMAH. You can easily remove that.. alls it takes is selecting "Remove" and then you enter the code they text you lol.
 
Yeah......I don't give my real info on those battle.net accounts so this wouldn't bother me at all. And the only phone numbers I provide are for the throw away Verizon phones I buy at Walmart for $15 each.

save yourself $15 next time and just get a google voice number tied to a dummy email address.

Oh dang, thanks for the tip! :D I had not done a ton of research into an alternative, but this will be nice to save a few extra bucks. Now what should I do with all these phones.....
