I got two accounts, one botting account and a main account. If I bot with the bot account and that account getting banned, could they also ban my main account which I haven't been botting on? (Using the same IP and same computer, but it's different battle net owners but both stands on the same adress).

On the grounds that its their game, their ToS, their rules. They can do whatever the fuck they feel like with absolutely no explanation.

on the grounds that you benefited from the proceeds of the bot account.

Imo people are exaggerating abit on the " blizzard can do whatever they want , its their game " . Blizzard is not a dictatorship , its a company with customers.

I started botting around February , i do not consider myself a " veteran " in botting , but i will tell you what i think from my experience.

I have got about 15-20 wow accounts banned for botting , and i have never got any suspension or ban on my main account , even if i would often raid with my main account on the same pc and on the same time i was running bots on other accounts. And i have even sent gold / items from botting accounts to my main account or the opposite, although i tried to never exceed 10k-15k gold per mail.

Im not trying to say that its impossible for your main account to get banned if its running from same ip / computer as your botting account. But it is , in my opinion , very very low chance for that to happen.

Just to point out 20 accounts banned in less then 7 months. Maybe you should not be giving advice?

1. WoW they focused the people botting to make money more then just average joe wanting to get his guys better gear what not, or those that drastically effected the server in a manor they felt unacceptable.
2. Botting directly effects the bottom line in D3. Influx of good items decreases sale value, this decreases net profits of the Diablo3 residual income, its ONLY form of residual income currently.

If people stole from my company I damn sure would go after them as well. Along with anything that might have gained from it. Guilt by association is nothing new to people in the real world.

If you don't think botting steals from Blizzard, think about how many millions of gold is sold to gold sites that flip it. What is it like $0.40 per million they make? That adds up pretty fast.

Perhaps you should browse the ban forums.... There's page after page of bans where the mains were hit on the same IP as the botting accounts.

I don't think they can justify banning an account that was never botted on, even if you xfer all your gold there. You don't get banned for buying gold, so same thing goes here.

Lol how do you get banned in WoW anyway, every server is full of bots and no one is getting banned.

people have been though

My main was it was never even logged in on from my pc just my laptop which had no bots or software installed upon it. All I used it for was to transfer gold to and items as I enjoyed legit play from time to time.

I use my main on a PC that had a monk sark ban, i sell gold on him, i've made a lot, no bans. I even asked blizz this very question and the reps response was "as long as a program isn't used while the account is logged in for that client you won't get banned, your brother will" (made up a story that my bro used my computer blahblah).

So I think anyone that had a character ban is full of shit and used hacks/whatever on it and just doesn't want to admit it.

Sold probably 300 million botted gold from main.

I had two accounts that were quested by hand until they were banned...

no contact with other accounts, appealed and blizzard denied...

If you have bots and transfer, lets say 300 mil to your main char. Then you sell those 300 at the RMAH. They investigate the auction, see where the gold comes from, check those accounts. Then they perhaps see you botted 24/7 or something and voila every account gets banned. Easy as it is.

And for all people asking "can they ban... bla bla bla"

Yes they can and yes they do.

[h=3]Account Suspension/Deletion.[/h] BLIZZARD MAY SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE ANY BNET ACCOUNT OR WORLD OF WARCRAFT ACCOUNT AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU.

that sounds really unfortunate.

Easy as it is?...Have had all my accounts since day 1, and have also been doing this for weeks, WEEKS, not days, not 1 transaction, weeks.

Maybe I'm just lucky in this sense. Only had a monk get banned for sark the other week.
