No, I wouldn't.

Because complaining about it doesn't make it any better. It doesn't make it go any faster. It doesn't change anything.

So if you buy a game today, and when you get home to install it you can't because it has nonsensical DRM you would just go "oh well, that money's spent, no use getting upset." Is that correct?

No. You're getting your analogy wrong.

If I bought the bot years ago, like the OP, and got years out of it, that easily makes up for the original price. If I can't use it for a few days because of errors that are out of my control, it's inconvenient, but I already got my money's worth. I also know that the problem will eventually be fixed because they are a business and have to fix it otherwise people will stop buying it.

That's why I think it's funny if someone says "I'm paying.." when they paid a small amount a long time ago and saved hundreds of hours of farming and possibly earned millions of gold.

You're like a driver stuck in traffic, yelling at the people in front of you to go faster. Will it make them go any faster? No.

No but you let the company take a realistic time to fix it...
You write them in an adult way, describe your problem and then wait.
You cannot expect everything to be fixed in a minute.
Yes there are sometimes problems and we have some of them now but the whole team is working on them day and night .....and like you can see also on a Sunday!

I think the problem here is that you might have been kicked in the head by a mule recently. My analogy is, in fact, quite accurate.

The time between purchase and being restricted from using your product does not matter. The fact remains that I purchased a product. Now, if it was a subscription I would not have the right to be upset if, at the end of a billing period, the servers shut down with no reason or warning.

Your analogy is only accurate if I actually bought it today or yesterday and I haven't.

lol its a month old now

This release is barely a week old, you must forget how solid and reliable it was all through cata, all the things it simplified for you. If you say you purchased it in wotlk and are still using it you must have been a devoted user for some time now and found it quite reliable and useful. I would bet my money that you have received more than your money's worth to this point and the fact that your impatience is leading you to trash a product that would be expected to have issues with new patches is more comedic than anything else.

Other than the bot itself, which yes is having issues but also like I stated, the release client is only but a week old, it is a community driven product so things like CC issues and everything else is the developers not the Bot Buddy team. I agree the issues with authenticating and what not can be disruptive and frustrating at times but ignorance is no answer.

Please avoid contact with more hoofed beasts of burden in the future, my friend. Best of luck with your head injury recovery.

Now reading all this I just have to write a few words too... I agree with those that say that trash talking isnt helpfull and that Mop was just released and some down time was expected.... BUT then again those bots are made and sold by a I guess pretty sucessfull company... If they were not sucessfull and strong financially Blizzard would have smashed them in court years ago and if you have the money for a Battle in court you should aswell have the money for some kick ass high grade servers located in some premium Datacenters around the world that can swallow pretty much any load you throw at them... I dont want to be rude or fight or anything Im just writing this as a counter part to those posters that act as if BuddyBots were developed and given to people for free from some broke geek college students... But we all know thats not the case... This is a Business and downtime is bad for Business.

So out of curiousity, by your standards. The fact that I purchased the Lord of the Rings Game for WINDOS(and just before people say I can't spell, yes it is supposed to be WINDOS aka Windows 3.1 DOS) back in the early 90s I should still be able to play it now? And the fact that I can't I should be able to complain to the creator of said game?

ALL this BS complaining aside, it gets us no where... i think the BIG!! question is.

WHY? can't we login to our HB client, are your Authentication servers down (obvious).... Fix them.. ETA?
OR.... turn off the authentication!!! and sell HB with a one time keycode or revolve it around HB accounts with login to the website for additional licenses etc..

The authentication servers have been a really big prob lately and they have nothing to do with WOW.

I have respect for the time it takes to code the bots etc.. but authentication issues, come on they are just there to prevent ppl from getting HB free.

You've been given a reasonable time to fix it, as this issue has existed for over a month now.

I don't expect it to be fixed "in a minute." But, you've had weeks in order to address it. Last weekend the cry was "wait until Monday, it will be fixed!" And that's exactly what you're saying this weekend, too.

I recall seeing in another thread by one of the Admin staff a post saying that nothing would be done to the servers today, since it was Sunday.

Instead of just replying to 100 different threads saying "There are sometimes problems" or "there are issues right now" or just simply exactly what your signature says not to do, why don't you spend 10 minutes writing an official thread with all of the details of what is wrong, realistic ETAs and most important of all, the one thing every single buddy staff member fails to do...apologise to your customers for the problems instead of just repeating the same "lol problems happen dont QQ and wait for an unknown amount of time with no information about the issue".

You'll be surprised what a difference it makes.

DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS

The problem I have is that there is nothing we can do to get Honorbuddy to work. We can't download the meshes now so we won't have to download them on demand later, for example.

I agree that the bot is complete unstable. I cant bot for one straight hour, but given, its a new expansion and we always had to wait during new expansions until the bot was updated, plus this is the longest lasting botting company I've ever seen. Blizzard usually closes them out within a year, but we still here. So yeah, its annoying but instead of bashing each other and criticizing our favorite company, let's ask questions like adults and help out answering and guiding those that are young or hot headed in our mists.

Fact is the bot is going to be fixed and stable again soon, and trust me, NONE of us cant wait to bot 24/7 again.

So, lets say you buy a video game. The day after you buy it you can no longer play it, because the servers are down without any announced reason. Would you be upset that you cannot play your video game?

ever play wow after half the releases? cant logg in for like a week after each expansion, then every Tuesday there's a 8hr downtime, along with a daily downtime around noon eastern. And you paid at least 40$ per account and then 15$ a month for the past however long you've been playing, and you find the need to bitch @ honorbuddy who has overall had better up-time than wow that only required a once payment possibly years ago.

The issue isn't the bot. The bot, itself, is stable. The issue is that the servers they're using for authentication, meshes, and it seems the forums, are getting overloaded. But this has been happening for almost a month now, so there is no reason it has not been addressed yet.
