okay so i've been slowly learning how to build a computer, what parts go into it and i know half. But It'll really help me if someone gave me a setup (the main parts i need) to run 12 bots on a single rig. I'm thinking a i5, and 32 gbs of ram, well thats all i decided for now lol. I'm not sure what video card (or cards?) to get, or any other stuff. Can someone tell me what main parts (specific parts so i can order from new egg website) i need to build one? My budget is 600 to 800 (or cheaper if possible) for a single tower rig. Thanks guys

I have an i5 overclocked to 4.5 MHz and I am running 6 bots at about 80-90% processor usage. 16g ram also

I'm wishing I would of got an i7 now. Either gonna swap em out or build a new system with i7 next. I could prolly run more than six but I haven't tried. Absolutely no laggin at 6 instances though and I can still do shit like play minecraft or web browse no problem. I doubt your gonna build a system
To run 12 bots on 800 dollars though bro processor mobo and ram alone gonna run 700ish at least

thanks for the heads up man, how much do you think a rig that'll run 12 cost?

I got 2 gigabyte 660ti(300 each) and it's having no problem with the video. Runs at like 40% load so one would get
The job done for my rig. Psu gonna run you 125 (dont buy a shitty psu, do some research and get a
Gold rated) and case at least 100. Then u need a cooling solution for overclock that's another 100 bux.

That's all I can think of so your looking 1300+? Thats assuming you have a monitor and keyboard mouse I don't even know if i7 will run 12 maybe someone else can give you some input. There's like 50 of these threads.

yeah lol i posted a thread before but asked a kinda different question, thanks devious

Have an i7-3770k running 7 bots while surfing the net and stuff. CPU usage is at about 60%-85%. Each instance of D3 is running at 20-25 FPS. ISboxer for 5 bots, seems to reduce the CPU usage. Not sure what the effects are for overclocking it.

16 gig ram, about 14gig is being used and should stay that way (haven't turned off my pc for weeks).

GTX 560 Ti GPU, sometimes there are graphical fragmentation but it's very rare.

Edit: If I don't do anything, CPU usage seems to stabilize at around 60-70%.

I doubt you will be able to run 12 Instances with 1 PC/Prozessor (not even an overclocked I7 will take that). Either you go for 2 PCs (I5) or you try to build some Xeon solution.

Could look like that:
EVGA Classified SR-X, C606 Mainboard (650 USD)
32 GB Ram (Board can handle up to 96) around (150 USD)
2x Intel Xeon E5-2603 (450 USD)
2x 256 SSD (350 USD)

That would be around 1650 USD

But there could be some add. cost for a graphic card and a really good PCU, Chip Coolers, etc.

I have ordered new parts for me as well, because my old Itel Q9550 Quad Core is maxed at 3 Bots.

OCd i7 can handle 20+ bots. (Apoc is running 40Bots on and I7 Machine)
Id definitly recomend a i7 with oc potential...
32gig ram and 1+ SSD.

can you tell me your specs? i'd like to just replicate someones setup, or try replicate as close as i can

running 12 on the following setup...

i-2700k OC'd to 4.7ghz (the limiting factor)
*this cpu is also obsolete, the new version is the 3770k from intel
32 gb ram
evga 560ti 1GB superclocked(no need for anything more expensive than this for 12 bots seeing as how you're being limited by your cpu, not your gpu) if you want to run more than 12 bots, get a graphics card with 2gb memory.
mobo is asus p8z77, though you can buy any mobo that has socket compatible with your processor, ie 1155, 2011, etc
750w psu
SSD or HDD - I got one small SSD and run the clients with isboxer. If you don't want to pay for isboxer, then you will need at least a 256gb drive. Cheaper to get an HDD but they will load the clients slower. If you're gonna buy everything else that this system needs, then you may as well spring for the SSD too in my opinion.
Liquid cooling for cpu - also not completely necessary but if you're going to be running a cpu OC'd at full load 24/7 then it's not a bad investment.

This rig can run 12 but they will start to lag if i try to use the computer for anything else, like watch a movie or surf the web even. If you want to run 12 and also use the machine for other basic computer stuff, then this won't cut it. At least it doesn't for me.

cpu - $300
gpu - $220
ram - $180
mobo - $170
psu - $110
cdrom - $20
tower - $50
ssd - $200
liquid cooler - $80

Total - $1330

Black Friday's around the corner, I bet you can get all this stuff on sale. Problem is now you also gotta buy 12 D3's plus farming gear for 12 bots :|

mobo - $170

cdrom - $20 - go get some for free ask friends etc. and safe the 20$
tower - $50 - go buy a used one for 5-10$ and safe 40-45$
ssd - $200
liquid cooler - $80

Some of the items you can prolly buy used, and safe some xtras. i dont know what its called on english but you can try go on the "junk yard" for used old stuff, sometimes its possible to get tower etc for a cake or something for the workers. i have a deal with them, that they put computer stuff in a container where i give a few bucks or cake, and then i can take what i need, if i just clear up after myself. Ive made a decent computer that can run 3 x bots paid around 50$ in cakes :)

I'm about to build a new PC this afternoon, hoping to run 12 bots on used parts.
i7 2700k which I'll oc to whatever I can
32gb ram
128gb ssd
8800gt (old but vmware doesn't need a powerful gfx)
This would probably cost you 600€ tops if you buy used parts like I did.
I'll let you know how many bots I can handle !
