is it like this:

10cv with 100iv is better then 100cv with 10iv?

so 100 iv is a max pokemon? whatever the cp is?

if thats so then my next question is will an 100 iv pokemon evolve to an 100 iv pokemon? or is the iv not bound to evolving?

greetz

IVs correlate to your pokemon's hidden base stats. These stats are Stamina, Defense and Attack. These three stats determine the max CP that your pokemon will be able to achieve. For instance, a Dragonite with 100 IV can reach ~3200 CP when fully powered up. A Dragonite with only 10 IV might be able to get to 2400 CP when fully powered up. Generally, you want a good balance between IV and CP. If you catch a Dratini with 90 IV but only 50 CP, you might want to trade it for one that's 85 IV but 500 CP. It's IV might be lower, but you won't have to spend as many candies leveling it up because it's starting CP is higher.

In summary, IV determines how good your pokemon can get, CP determines how good your pokemon is right now.

IVs persist through evolution. A Nidoran(M) with 100 IV will evolve to be a Nidoking with 100 IV.

EDIT: I should also note that when you're botting, it's probably best to prioritize IV over CP. When you're ready to power up whatever pokemon you get, any lower CP doesn't really matter since you'll have so much Stardust and Candies from the bot doing its thing.

can the IV get better over time (powering up) or is it static

IV's don't change. They are determined when you catch the pokemon. The only way to get a better IV is to catch a new pokemon with better IV.

thank you so much :) i did so much wrong last 26 lvls haha

No problem! Fortunately, the bot makes it easy to recover. Set your transfer to keep max IV and you'll be stomping through Gyms in no time.

great, thank you for the explanation.

what about in the case of Squirtle. squirtle iv 90, does that mean wartortle will have an iv of 90 or a different value altogether?

Gyarados IV 100 for me :DDD need only dratini 100 (actually 98) and i'll go destroy gym :)

right but that is only two stages, does it persist through all three stages?

Yes. A pokemon's IV's will always be the same no matter what you do to it. Evolution, power up, nickname, doesn't matter. IV's don't change once the pokemon is caught.

thanks all,

So in order to get the 'best' nidoking possible (for example). I need to get a nidiran (IV 100), get him to max lvl (cp) by feeding him candies, then evolvo to nidorino with candies max lvl (cp) and then evolve to nidoking?

But then still, the attacks of my are still random right? Do they change upon evolving?

thx

Technically evolving a decent IV Pokemon (80-85% and above) with a decent CP (so you don't spend all your dust) and see what you roll on your Type 2 attack ends up being to determine whether it is the best, this I personally think is the most "efficient" but a lot of players in my opinion are too IV orientated.. searching for perfection IV but may not roll good on attack style.

Anything with IV>90 is worth retaining for future use. Because usually the max CP difference between IV90 and IV100 is not that significant, but it does change the battle result.

I got a double perfect (100IV plus dragon claw+dragon breath) dratini with 505CP before. This is the type of pokemon you will always keep.
