Called out for Botting

I just use Routines for combat rotation, and control the character myself, I have been doing this for quite a few years. Today I thought I'd try Kicks Questing, I was sat watching the bot when a player started following me and the /w me that I was botting.

Would it be ok to use the routine for rotaion and control my char myself, or just not use the bot at all?.

What I'm asking is, can a GM do anything to see Honorbuddy running on my client other than if I let the bot auto afk quest?.

Honestly, no one can say for sure. All you will get are suggestions or information based on personal experience or things people have heard.

My suggestion is that you stop botting for a while. If you were reported and a GM investigates then they may be able to tell that you are running a combat routine. We honestly don't know what data the server stores about our play. It is possible that the GM could look at all of the data from the time you were reported even if it was weeks ago. You might be able to stop botting completely from here on, but there may be damning evidence that Blizz already has.

From what I've heard Blizz is not supposed to be monitoring other applications that you run on your computer, so based on that I don't think they do a check to see if Honorbuddy is running. They have methods to tell though. I heard a rumor that one way they tell if someone is a botter is they check their action bars. If they are using abilities that are not on the action bars then they know it is happening through injection. I was told that was one of the easiest ways that they tell if someone is a bot is if they have blank action bars.

bet that the dude /w you use HB to otherwise how would he know.its like when your in bg and your bots runs ...its so funny to see 3-4(the same ppl and the full bg time) other players running the exact same way either infront of you or behind you..but that said .you can never be to carefull.so maybe take a breake botting on that acc and enjoy another acc

Only people who have botted themselves know when you are botting tbh... and, at least i hope, those wont report.

if ppl call me out and say they are reporting me for botting ill jsut reply with the same thing and tell them if you know what botting looks like and how it acts you must bot your self so you sire are getting reported to

i been botting on my main for yrs and nothing has ever happened to me. i dont ever bot more then 4 hrs a day though. and i always watch it. the only thing i use all the time is the routine. im was thinking of getting another account and bot 24/7 with that but if they catch me im worried they will look at my ip and watch my other account idk hhaahah

The biggest give away that someone is botting (If you don't bot yourself and recognize the telltale signs) are interrupts. I feel very strongly that the CR makers remove the option for a CR to interrupt faster than 70MS.

Statistically speaking, very few people can actually react inside of 70MS. Like we're talking a TINY % of the population. The actual average is around 200MS. When I run arenas I laugh because the number of people running interrupts at sub 10ms is awful. If I did not use HB and CR routines myself, I would have a field day reporting blatant botters. I feel like half the teams I run into are interrupting under 30MS, many even faster.

Do yourselves a favor. Run your interrupts at 70ms (take your own latency into consideration) aim for 100MS combined AT THE LOWEST. If you consistently interrupt sub 50-40 MS and anyone with a clue is going to know you're a bot.

1. Before i start use bot i did t know how to recognize bot and did t know what that mean and did t care about that so i think these players who calling you bot or reporting are also boters - report them back
2. When you making battle net acc is t last step that you need confirm that you agreed that blizz can scan your system ? So they can look in your pc system ?

Blizzard cannot scan your PC or we would not be having this conversation lol. Neither can they scan for what processes you are running

its against the forum rules and its a dick move.

but, you already know when you report someone, they investigate both parties. so why would you even bring heat on yourself.

the best bet is to just leave the situation, avoid conflict and live to bot another day.

Just FYI, there's a tactic in WoW PvP known as pre-Kicking.

It's pretty self explanatory really, what you do is attempt to land your interrupt at the same time someone begins casting, usually on a Penance so that the first tick doesn't even go off.

It's high-level prediction and not bot-level reaction.

You could get lucky once in awhile if you just blow your interrupts on "high level prediction". It takes longer for the human brain to register an event than the speed many people are interrupting at. This is totally different than predicting a response. It's also a pretty silly tactic to use. If you mistime your prediction you just wasted your interrupt. If you're anticipating the spell and letting it fly the very instant you see the casting animation, guess what. Over 40MS just for your brain to process what it is seeing, another 40+ MS for you to react to what you are seeing, and that is if you are 1% of 1% type level reflexes. Most people, pretty much everyone who plays WoW, is lumbering along in the 200+ MS reaction crowd.

The point is that you recognise the behaviors a caster makes before they begin to cast. If you're fighting a healer who's jumping around spamming instants and they abruptly stop and stand still, it's probably because they're planning on casting, get what I mean?

That's where a good player can recognise these signs and successfully predict what they're going to do next.

You totally missed the point - waffling on mindlessly about how the human brain takes time to register an event, that's called reaction speed. I already told you I wasn't talking about reaction speed, I said I was talking about prediction.

Obviously if someone consistently interrupts casts on 10ms it means they're using something automatic for that, I never said they weren't. All I did was tell you that it's possible to do it without using an automated program. Also I'm aware of the drawbacks to such a tactic, but thanks projecting your own shortcomings in PvP onto me.
