And you are sure you are trying to login with the Hb client ?

have you checked your system clock , is the date correct ?

hey boss :)

DeadlyForce and i just had a private chat for a bit. I confirmed that his username/pw is correct (i logged into one of my hb's w/ his info)... its something on his computer that is blocking HB program (he can log into hbauth.gatherbuddy.de). we went through many steps and i am at a loss :( he has windows firewall disabled, uninstalled all other virus protection, disabled services, etc.

still failed on his end. his UAC is disabled... right click on hb --> properties the "run as admin" is greyed out (since no uac, this is greyed out)

he's running windows vista

i had him download/install ZoneAlarm b/c this has helped me situate programs that need internet access (like torrents, limewire, etc)

Note: i assume he was running the hb client as i asked him what processes were running in taskmgr.exe and he listed explorer, firefox, honorbuddy ...

i had him open msconfig, the only startup thing was a rundll, i had him disable that as well :\

Did you check his router for a hardware firewall that might be blocking something? Can the OP (I forget your name, sorry) post how he is connected to the internet? (Ie. My laptop connects wirelessly to my Linksys Router that has Tomato on it and I have Verizon). Might be that his router is setup to turn down ports for unknown services.

i was thinking this, but i dont know what ports hb uses. which if zonealarm lets it through, then its a router/modem issue, which by adjusting the ports can easily be fixed. or are you stating that you can go into the router and allow a program to go through, no matter the ports?

i haven't messed w/ routers in a long time, i have had straight cable modem since 2003, and no probs w/ this issue

You can do application level forwards on business-class (layer 3) switches, but likely not with any normal router that he may have. Might need to found out if there any any unusual ports used by HB for auth from Bossland. Or just check his router to see if there is a strict firewall setting on and lower it. I tried checking on my end but didn't see any ports pop up during auth.

Yes, HB cilent and it's Saturday, February 20, 2010 8:00 PM which is correct where I live. (EST, America)

I'm going to setup all this on my laptop and see if I can run it on there while I try to fix this computer...

Are you 100% sure the system time is correct on your computer?

...lol

Well the 'offical' U.S time for EST is like 1/2 a second ahead of the computer. The Date and Year are correct.
