Bought 4 unmerged accounts > week later all suspended SAME TIME

We have determined that the World of Warcraft account xxxxxxxxxx has been accessed/compromised by someone not authorized to do so by the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use).

To protect your privacy and security, we have temporarily disabled this account. Any recurring subscriptions have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges. In order to regain access to the account, you must complete the steps below to secure the account and your computer.

Before we can restore access to this account, we must first verify that you are the registered player on the account. Please complete the Account Recovery Form (Battle.net Account Verification Form - Battle.net Support), follow the instructions in the form, and then submit, fax, or mail the form and required identification as directed.


This was between friends. Every account had a different email on it. We actually bought 5 but the one friend got lucky and still has his account.

WTF would cause 4 accounts to instantly be closed but then the fifth not be touched?

I guess so, but is gonna vary per-person, they don't mind you registering more accounts, but I am just saying it's their way of tracing you. That is the only way they can trace where the accounts are from if you say all the details are correct. If one account is suspected, I am pretty much sure they will pin it on all of them and investigate further. I guess in future try registered on other I.P's, proxies etc. When you register the account they will store in the database your registered I.P address.

they're asking me for the photo ID, etc but i just got done doing the automated recovey thing when you get hacked. it says that when it's done it will revert any bans or suspensions caused by the hacker. so i'm hoping this will work

but thanks for the advice!
 
Pretty much most of the time Blizzard will ban people to make it like they are doing something, if they can un-ban someone they will. Banning an account is them losing ?9 a month, so they will give as many chances as possible. Hoping the player will return legit.
 
The same happens to me and my merged Accs. 12 Accs during 3 weeks were banned.
Always after 1 week at LvL85 and starts farming.
Look at my Post here in Bann-Forum.
I have registerd all at the same IP i think, but now from the last 7 banns are 4 free and 3 72h bann after inspection from GM.
Pls look in my post and help me to find out why find they out that i am botting.

Unmerged accounts aren't very safe.
I remember reading in ownedcore that Blizzard US asks for photo ID 100% of the time, though at the time EU was safe.

Dunno if that ever changed, but I'd stay clear of them. All you need is 1 flagged account to risk bringing down every account you have.

ah, title was mislabeled. we (friends) bought several unmerged. I ended up buying 4 (2 i accidentally rolled on a server we didn't wanna play on, so I bought 2 more) and my 3 other friends had bought one each.

all mine were banned INCLUDING one of my friends whom I made the battlenet account for. so my only connection between bans is the IP where I made my own accounts and one friends.

so all of my accounts and that one friends was banned, but the other two friends accounts were untouched.
 
no one knows for sure, but:

there are various ways accounts can be linked together, including ip. if an account is banned, they often ban all accounts which are linked together. I've also noticed before that they were only banning the linked accounts which were online at the time of the ban.

I haven't worried about it in years though
 
if i wanna get another unmerged thing going, what are the cons of putting my real name when I make the new battlenet? so if this happens again, i can easily send in my photo ID.

if i chose to do this, are there any disadvantages involved?
 
From my experience the issue is doing more then one at once. I'd give it a few days in between merges. I'm not sure how many days but I've gotten banned when I merged more then 1 in 1 day whether that was in separate fresh bnets in my name but with different emails or if that was merging into my own existing bnet.
 
I recently had 4 unmerged accounts banned as well...fortunately I did use real names so I was able to get the all back. This didn't effect my main accounts which share the same real name.

As the poster above stated it may be a multiple merge per day thing...however I presume in my case may have been the fact that the email addresses I merged the accounts into were sequential(sam1,sam2,sam3,etc...) which may have been a flag as well. Or they may just be verifying all merges now, requiring real id verification.
 
So were the original unmerged accounts in your name? Or different name merged into bnet in your name?

has anyone made 2 unmerged accounts and eventually transferred toons from Account A to Account B without getting locked/suspended?

EDIT: I want to pay the $25 to completely transfer the character (used same last name)

Yes

I've merged unmerged accounts into my original bnet and then transferred toons from from those accounts to my main account under the same bnet.
