I've been thinking about setting up a office station for my old man with the Intel NUC DC3217IYE (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...oards/desktop-boards-d33217gke-dc3217iye.html).
This barebone system has a Intel? Core? i3 3217-U processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 Integrated by CPU.
I want to finish off the build with a 240GB mSATA SSD and 16GB of SO-DIMM memory.
I'm curious and want to get the opinion on what you guys with the knowledge on how much computing/graphics power it takes to run multiple (5+) bots think this cute little puck can handle.
Of course, with all the necessary adjustments to settings made to reduce D3 and DBs' footprints.

Can or no can?

Change CPU to AMD A10-5800K with build-in radeon HD7660D and u are ok. IntelHD GPU is superb lowlevel gpu, ~geforce 8400GS.

This new AMD in-build GPU can run Far Cry 2 @ 25-30fps. IntelHD4k maybe 5fps.

I agree that graphics will be a serious limitation, the 4000 may max out pretty quickly even on tiny D3 windows. Also, 1.8 ghz with 2 cores (4 threads)? I can't see that thing pushing more than 4 bots. I maxed out at 2 on a Celeron 530 with higher clock, and hyperthreading will not double the bot capacity. On the up side, 4 bots might be a perfect load on the 4000 graphics. In that case, your build for one might be 8gb of ram and a tiny (64gb) SSD, and may come out to be an acceptable $/bot ratio.

EDIT:
NUC: $280
SSD: $60
8GB: $45

$385 for 4 bots isn't exactly cost effective (you can get below $70 a bot easily with normal hardware), but it would definitely be efficient with space. Imagine having a farm of these things with a custom 19v multiline PSU :)
