Botting: MORE fun, or LESS fun?

Comparing to when you did not bot: Do you get MORE FUN or LESS FUN from the game?

I played battlefield (the new one) for some time, until I "tried" the Artificialaiming bot... rofl... I could do things like 80-2, with autofire on and a 360 degree auto aiming stuff. No more fun, quit the game. Then I realised that the Artificialaiming site makes aimbot for "every" FPS... no more fun in any FPS. :)

I guess I should start coding myself to get the fun back, just like someone said back here... a "new game", coding CCs.
i wont comment on whether HB has made wow more or less fun for me. But i can definitely say hacking in FPS makes them boring after a good hour.

I think the bot have given me much more than wow ever did not just that my wow account is getting richer but that of getting the bot to work writ a profile things like that before i had the bot i wanted all classes in lvl 85 but it is virtualy impossible if u don't play 24/7 the bot has getten me 5 lvl 85 and full pvp gear pluss 200k gold if the bot did not exist i would not play wow

For me it is quite the opposite.
During periods in the past when a bot program was not useable due to patching, bans or whatever I felt completely lost and bored in game. Even though I do not bot on my main account I still felt more bored not being to look over at the bot accounts doing their thing.

There have been times in vent when on my main account during a raid I'll yell out loud "Get him, get him..YESSSS"; while we are all just standing around. Guildies just wondering what the heck I'm talking about, normally saying my cat was chasing a fly when it was really the bot killing someone trying to gank it. Love it!

Few years ago before starting up botting I was almost to the point of just quitting the game, botting helped restart that.

It helps on leveling. But is after you get to 85, you still continue botting becose there isnt easy way to get gear without spending craploads on AH. However, grinding for conquest points in BGs is horrible slow compared to these people that do arena and rated BG's since they get like conquest point boost or so. Pro pvp Arena ppl get conquest caps under one hour or so, some even say that under 20 minutes. Almost everything else can be botted, but Id rather do raids and pvp manually at the end. I wish blizz would make everything else easier but keep pvp and raids hard. LF Raid tool totally ruined raiding, in a way.

Since I've been playing for almost 5 years, i don't enjoy the procces now, but result is still fun for me.

There are elements of wow I enjoy, I like raiding, I dont mind leveling (for the first or second characters), I dont mind earning valor on my main characters and progressing its gearup manually

I would not and have not botted those things.

But when it comes to mindless repetition, things that blizzard put in the game to simply substitute content for grind then I bot, archeology is the entire reason I started botting, I used gatherbuddy a little but in truth I was more effective by just sitting at the AH and buying mats other people had botted, I could turn around ?20k a day in AH sales easily with a huge margin of profit for a lot less time than running a gathering bot. I've used it to level alts.. but only because theres no interest for me in doing the same quests again.

I've used it for doing daily quests because really blizzard can gtfo with that, making me do quests that have no interest or challenge value at all, they only serve to eat 20-30minutes of my day to accrue some points, I didnt mind a weekly boss kill or wintersgrasp but those things require more effort from blizzard to produce and balance. Telling you to run to X and collect 10 of random item each day is just slack

I bascially use the bot to churn the unfun things in the game, so that I can enjoy the fun and challenging parts. But i have enough gold now and im done with earning achievements outside of the raiding ones so I have no reason to bot, If it comes to the point where there is nothing in the game worth actually playing then ill just stop playing, seems pointless to me to bot the unfun stuff at all when its not to support the fun stuff

a "new game", coding CCs.

My theory on the addictiveness of wow, is that no matter how slow or grindy it feels.. you still can see visible progress in one form or another, Whether its dinging another level or gaining another piece of gear you get some small amount of gratification from making each little achievement and become 'more powerful' as you go.

Compare this to real life, where you do the same shit day in day out.. and no matter how many days you do it for, you wont feel like you have progressed. You can save to buy fancy new things but it goes much slower, want a new TV... save for 2-3 months, compare that to wow where the next upgrade might come each week. You can go 4-5 years in a job and look back and realise that your in exactly the same place you were when you started, your no more powerful, no closer to being a millionaire

Coding CCs for wow I dont think is specifically any more satisfying than coding anything, the sense of achievement is from coding something and seeing it work, tweaking it and improving it to be better and more powerful and then looking at it and being able to think, I just wrote that and it makes something I was doing so much faster and easier. If you took wow out of the equation and were coding a dull database application you'd still find it satisfying... I know, right now im working on automation tasks using powershell :D

I love watching my bot kicking ass in BG and making my daily WoW life easier with farming and stuff :)

The game is probably funnier if you do everything by yourself but after 10chars and same old sh*t it's not that fun anymore...

I'd say more fun. It gives me time to do stuff IRL and maintain a level of gear/gold in WoW that I otherwise would not have. The one drawback is that if I was forced to hand play right now, I am sure I would be absolutely horrible. Lazy Raider has been a definite crutch for me. I no longer need to learn new class mechanics when I am unfamiliar with the top DPS spec or class. All I do is click the button and Buddy does the rest. Not complaining, its kinda nice to eat my dinner/watch the game while my toon gets the top DPS on bosses.

The gold thing is nice, but I'm to the point now where I don't know what to spend it on. I could start buying mounts/pets but I really don't care about that. /shrug

the answer is simple :P When I had fun in the game, boting didn't even crossed my mind..I had a blast playing the game and was happy to farm by myself..

when I started to not have fun in the game and get boring, I decided to start boting to make things much easier for me.

reason i bot:
i raid 4 times a week, repair bills goes sky-high ;D
i need gold for flasks, food, gems, enchant etc.
and the main reason...
I LUV PRETTY THINGS!

- so basically i don't have time to farm stuff for hours..

i played alot of wow back in the days befor i met glider bot i was watching on youtube hmmz glider bot should be nice afther i used glider bot i couldnt play for 1 hour or i was boring but now im having fun again on my ret pally with rbg arena etc. so ye im playing the game and when im boring im playing LoL a few hours then i go back to wow again:)

I have more fun with wow since I started botting. Now I can change my talent points every day;
I don't have to care about the repair bill or the raid support I need (flask, etc.).

Now I can do the things I like to do.

Botting has made it better for me, being in the military i dont get much down time for the first 2 xpacs that came out i only had 1 toon, now ive got multiple toons and items that i would have never got by hand.

Definitely more fun. It got to the point for me that WoW was a chore almost. I've been playing since pre-launch and I hate playing without cheating in some way. The most fun I ever had was when WI was online and I was speedhacking too. Loved it.

Botting allows me to gear up for pvp and raiding properly without wasting time farming to buy gems, enchants, etc

More fun, can buy gear that makes it more fun raping people or mobs.
