Anyone know of anyone who's become a dollar millionaire purely through botting? I think a read somewhere here of a guy who made millions from botting, cant find it now tho.

millions? thousands is more like it.

was it that one guy who said he had 76 accounts botting full time that also have 76 accounts in reserved just incase of banning? He then said he took his family on a 4 months vacation with his money he made from botting and he's been botting since forever on WOW. Yeah he's on the banned forum posting on cloud8's post.

76 could of made a million per year when the price was 2-2.50 per mil and you could make 19m per bot per day right now its at .60 though with blizzard taking 30% roughly it would take 600 accounts at 10m gold per day per bot.

at best though he was botting 76 making that kind of cash for what a month ? He didn't come close to a million and like others he probably quit botting when prices went down and either crypts or sarkoth got nerfed.

Most I ever made botting was back in glider days though honestly and my best year i hit around 250k but that was the most Ive ever done. and you hit it on the nose when prices whent from 2.5 to .7 in a matter of what was it like 4 weeks i suffered a major ban and said "f this"

I can not ever see Millions as a feezable number though honestly. Because prior to hb we had to hand do alot of stuff it wasnt a set and forget program. I had alot of overhead in people to deal with things so to me it wasnt "true" botting... Not like now days at least were you set it up right and you litteraly walk away from your computer and never touch it except 1 time a week to do the gold trade.

Just let HB and PB take care of both farming and auctioning for ya. Yea its awsome now days. but to bad prices are crap.

I'm not sure how large Bossland's botting operation is now but I know that it was large enough that two years ago he had been botting long enough and with enough accounts that he had had over 500 banned.

Everybody on demonbuddy forums is a millionare  if you are not you are doing it wrong

Correction, it was $20 to $60 per Mil gold during the 1st few weeks of release.

Ya and no one was running 100 bots in the first few weeks. The 1st ban wave most of them people quit and the rest quit once prices went under 10$ per mil I remember seeing the post on other forums people saying omg its not worth it anymore lol you're botting not doing anything and making $ its always worth it.

Its not like you do nothing if u use DB... Crashes, new updates fukking up, lvling etc

Actually during the good days of Diablo2 the private dupers (that were handfull) made a lot of cash, I mean a lot. Let me just say that one of their resellers that I knew for years bought a huge house in Cali together with a latest model very expensive brand car only from d2 money... and he was just a reseller, one of the many. Now imagine how much the 2-5 private dupers in diablo2 were making when supplying the whole d2 market for years.

some of us were making 25k a week in Diablo 2.

sadly back in diablo 2 days i was only 13-14, and couldn't legally make a paypal/ebay account and my parents were against it, identity theft was out of the question.

white rings came out, and i learned how to make/dupe them, this guy told me he'd sell them on eBay and mail me a check for half, I was so excited, I spent like 2 days making them, he sold like 2-3 accounts full of characters on eBay, I think the total was over $30k or so, I was SO excited. Never heard back from him, and he was one of my close online "friends" :( years later, like 2-3 (finally had a paypal by then) he messages me saying he knows no one on unreal tournament 2003 and sent me $60 to go buy it, so I did, and played with him for a week, man teens are dumb, never sure why I got over the fact that he owed me at least 15 grand. I still remember his online name, AcidicChip.

Wrong, Immortal bot was available on release for Diablo 3 and there were people there making crazy amounts of money during the first month. I don't know if anyone made a million dollars off of bots but it was definitely possible. FYI first banwave happened way too late to cause any problems for the first botters - Remember there was D3 Mimic, Immortal Bot, Hellbuddy etc. All these bots went out of business but the amounts of gold they made was insane.

Also there were many exploits in the beginning, I am sure a lot of you remember the crypts farming? People were making 700k per hour on that shit which is insane.

If you had 10 bots running 24/7 in the first weeks making 700k per hour that comes out to roughly 1176 million or 1.176 billion gold per week. First week was like 60$ per million so that's 70k on the first week alone lol.

The following 7 weeks where gold prices were 30$ a million it would come out to 246,960 + the initial 70k which would be $316,960 off of 10 bots in 2 months. Let's be honest even a small time botter like me ran 6 bots so professionals were probably running at least 2-3 times as much so we can definitely say some people hit a million but it definitely wasn't a common thing.

Yeah and especially considering how the first real ban wave didn't happen until we were at Sarkoth (mid July?), and gold was down to like $2/m by then, there were probably lots of big time botters who made hundreds of thousands, and a few farms that probably topped a mil.
