botting 24/7 and current state of banning

I want clear somethings up first. In the past a lot of people have been botting 24/7 and managed to avoid the ban hammer for at least 6 months. Now, recently the number of people getting banned have gone up. I heard from some people the amount of hours you bot makes no difference. So, I just want to know, does botting 24/7 increase your chance of getting caught? Are all the people who say botting 24/7 makes no difference as to botting a few hours a day bullshitting?

Botting 24/7 = more time online = more chances for people to see you = more reports.

If someone logs on 3 or 4 times during the day to see you farming ghost iron ore in votfw every time they log in. They are going to assume you are a bot.
If they log in 3 or 4 times a day and only see you once. They will probably not even look twice at you.

What if I rotate characters on the same account? Are GMs monitoring how long your account is playing/logged on?

That is unknown I believe. Player reports is the only confirmed way of you getting a ban. Everything else is just speculation I believe.
Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Indeed player reports are major card in Blizzards banhammer deck, but its not the only one. They do autoban only from serverside scripts too, as already confirmed by tons of forummates here. Like doing the same kind of stuff over and over every day, you will get hit in matter of weeks!

In my experience - it's always the player reports that will get a GM to monitor your character.. they wont randomly start looking into everyone - I assume that's to much work for their petty salary

if that was 100% absolute - they would have banned all the black temple bots in matter of days, they have to find it first - then make a script for it.. if it's new and repetitive and not found out, it's totally fine.

This is the only thing and yes the only thing is that is sure and the rest is just speculation

I would imagine they have computer programs that keep track of every single account and their login hours and informs a GM when ever someone has been playing for over 24 hours, but then again there are people who bot for months and still hasn't been caught.

I remember reading a post a few weeks back or more, the poster said and divulged that conversation with a GM stating that, an auto-script for gathering was in place, being, the two hour mark, so, i tried this and gathered for 1 hour 45 minutes, logged into my Dungeon guy for an hour then rotated, my accounts have not been banned to-date, however, I've moved to ESO, those accounts are gathering e-dust as we speak.
