Blocking Blizzards ability to scan your RAM, is it possible?

I've got my tin foil hat on!

And with it I started to look around for an answer to this question. I'm going to mention up front that I really don't know how any of this could work or if it would work. And seeing as there are plenty of other people who have tin foil hats. I thought this would be one of the best places to ask :)

Additionally, I think an update to the "how to not get caught botting" threads could use an update since there seems to be a change in how people are getting banned. Which isn't entirely due to "not botting smart" as most people could contribute it to.
 
Well, guess I'll go ask the NSA for help then! Maybe if I ask them nicely they will help!
 
Its not possible. If it was we all would be using that method.

Blizzard has used warden updates in the past with other bots in order to detect them. MMO glider was the most famous with tens of thousands of accounts banned instantly. The forums crashed due to the amount of traffic. I do not think hb has been detected this way, though I do remember in late 2009 gb being detected when it was just released.

The banning methods blizzard used recently are said to be serverside scripts detecting LCP or some other patterns that cause this. If warden was updated and hb was detected we would have a repeat of may 2008 mmo glider banwave. Look it up.
 
Blizzard do NOT scan your memory since years after they got big problems with that.

they only scan the has of the files who read/write to the wow process. so they "could" detect when hb clicks etc.

blizz->DONT scann HB
blizz->dont memcheck for hb
blizz->protect&scan wow

if hb->inject wow->blizz see THAT

you could seperate wow,so blizz cant scann your sys(what they dont do) but if hb inject you can do nothin

Thanks for the info, I knew Glider had a massive ban wave but I didn't know everything else about it. Well at least I got my answer. I think I like my tin foil hat though, so I'll keep wearing it for a while :P
 
Its funny because the glider ban one of them that i can recall way back in vanilla was actually a client detection not involving warden. Since glider was good about keeping track of warden they didn't look at the actual client itself for detection method though.

Its pretty much illegal for warden to scan outside of WoW since they basically sued glider saying that its scanning WoWs ram was illegal or so idk long time ago.
 
If you run WoW in a VM, WoW can hardly scan your "total ram" but only the ram assigned to the VM.

this answer may not help you, but its an honest answer.
 
not necessary (maybe not what u want to hear, and of course it doesn't help BUT ... true)

bullshit. it is not illegal to scan ram and everything else. blizzard may also scan your private porn folder.
as you accepted the tos, you agreed, that they may scan you everytime they want.
there is no law against this. cos it is no malware or spyware. cos you are informed, that they may scan you.
not even hb staff is able to tell what law could forbid blizz to scan you.
in the whole world, there is no law like this.
since you know, blizz may scan you, it is your responcibility not to use online banking, while you play wow.

i don't know where you live, in Europe they CAN'T do it.

everybody sais they cannot do it.
in fact, there is no law forbidding it.
i spend several days to saerch for law's, court decissions,... there is nothing that forbids blizz to scan you.
this blizzard must not scan you thing is a myth. because 1000 people say, they must not, everybody tends to believe it.

i and 1000 of my frinds will now start to spread the myth 2+2=5. will it be true than? just because 1000 people believe it? no.
i also talked to bossland, the colsest thing he said was computer espionage. but in fact it is not espionage, cos you know they may do it.
you see.... people whos daily business it is to work with bots dont even know a law that forbids blizz to scan you.
reason: there is no law.

If i were to make an android game, and in the ToS i stated "This program will scan your pictures for (not allowed) screenshots of the game and all images that are unidentifiable will be sent to our team to judge", i'd still go to jail for stealing your sisters (nude) pics.

Just like memory scanning falls under computer espionage.

scanning and sending is not the same, maybe.
but you can give another 1000 smart examples. it wont make it true.
show me the law. facts. black on white written. this will make it true. not an android app.

American Express have an hidden rate of interest up to 5%.
ppl sign a contract with them for that credit card.
in my country more than 2.35% is called USURY.
one man suit them and AmEx was halted to made new contracts for 2 years in my country.
this is a #fact

no matter what you signed, if something is ILLEGAL, remains illegal.

Find me the facts its illegal;

They're not off scanning, they're reading/snapshotting the processes ie: windows process log.

If that's illegal then please explain how anti virus and other programs get away with "scanning processes";

By your statement, then even Norton is breaking the law;

Its in the tos, and aslong as they conform to the security needed and protocols i dont see a law that would stop them.

By installing Facebook on your mobile and agreeing to them having access to everything then they can do what ever they want with your phone, numbers, contacts, messages, pictures;
You agreed to install it and its in their tos, how is that breaking the law ?

Your country may very well have a "Law/Cap" on what companies can do with Finance, but it's alot different to software. Especially with the global recession and alot of countries in debt.

Argue amongst yourself although i imagine this thread will be closed as sadly like normal its derailed.
 
i just try to explain that it doesn't matter what your sign, if something is ILLENGAL in your country, still remain illegal.
