Well, I checked the ban reports forum and there isn't much activity. Mainly a guy claiming 40+ accts lost, and a couple guys with 1-2 accounts lost. Blizzard, on the other hand, is strutting around like they just won the Nobel Prize.

I haven't botted in over a week now (keys ran out, and with the price of gold I'm not renewing for now), and just checked, lo and behold all my bots (10+) are fine. Several of my botting friends are all ok too, not a single ban (total of around 40 bots between all of us).

Buzzard is a really pathetic company. :o

Blizzard are going after bots this year, infact going hard on RaF and SoR too... they failed to get honorbuddy so I guess they are going after other crappier bots.

They are doing some server restart...my tinfoil hat Theory: Calm before the Storm maybe???

Man, if only there was an entire forum dedicated to discussing bans of demonbuddy botters..... /sarcasm

Coming from someone who tries to profit of their game by botting and then shitting on the same company.
Are they the one who is pathetic or.....

Back on topic looks like it's still very tricky to bot consistently and regularly whilst avoiding the ban hammer after a couple of months. I wonder what pattern have they discovered that's leading to these ban waves. Clearly the bot itself isn't detected.

Blizzard is a pathetic company and that has nothing to do with us botting even legits complain about them all the time.

I think it's a combination of things. Like the modded d3prefs.txt which is from my point of view very detectable, because with these settings, human can't play.. and it's a game's file, so easy to check..
And then the profiles used that are not so random (always start from the same point and directly go to the teleport, insteaf of running randomly somewhere in town, etc, etc..)
Maybe we should create a list of points to avoid as much as we can to break patterns...

And i have a question, the bot enter games without changing the current settings (ACT,quest and MP).. Like i'm on ACT3 quest 8.2 MP10, start a ACT2 profile MP8, the bot enter ACT2, but the quest, MP and act on character screen are still ACT3... isn't it detectable ??

Playing with a 2.0 GHz laptop with integrated graphics on a 3G network in a tent in the Estonian woodlands - those settings do come in handy.

Singlemindedly focusing on the effectivness of your farming can result in even more uniform routines. Tinnkaizer 0.9 for example brings in more randomness than I personally would.

I'm guessing the game just invokes something like a NewGame(act, diff, quest...) function and Blizzard really doesn't care for straining their servers with individual click events that may not have any result. (maybe I'm just exploring the menus, looking for a setting, etc.)

They have opened champagne after banning several thousands bots, however they are unaware that most of remaining hundreds of thousands active accounts are also bots.

what happened? oh looks like absolutely nothing. bots all still going. see you in another week. monitor off :)
