i posted a screenshot with my name in it!

i just got blackmailed in-game ,what do i do guys?
 
Report him for blackmailing? Probably the best thing you can do. The damage is already done imo.
 
If you give him the gold you admitted to botting, and he will probably demand more next time. Either ignore him or report him for trying to blackmail you.
 
If I were you a smart move would be to delete that picture you provided, it kinda says hey blizz look I am a bot and I just got emailed by this player, remove it quick and report the player for scamming.
 
I would ignore him and would start to move my money into a guildbank for safekeeping.
I allways bot on accounts i can afford to loose, and this has happend to me aswell, i just ignored the him and the char he "reportet" is actually the first account i got when i startet botting with HB ;)

If the account is a pure botting account, You could lvl a new toon and start over :)
 
Delete that particular toon. Namechange could help but I wouldn't take risk.

I would defienetly delete that toon and any alts I would have in that banned toon guild I would slowly get away from there too. You're risking ability to not bg bot again in that account. Botting in bg is so safe that you had bad luck with 0.0001% chance.


1. He could ask for more money and couldn't bot ur toon for long time.
2. He could still report you and couldn't bot ur toon for long time.
3. You could report him but you wouldn't want to bot that account again for long time.
4. You could ignore him and couldn't bot ur toon for long time.

If you get reported blizzard first needs proof first so they put you under surveillance.first. Delete toon play it safe.

Deleting a toon will help you nothing. If you delete a toon, it may be out of YOUR list, but Blizz still has all the logs about the toon - everything it did, said, traded, etc. and so they will be able to investigate it though.

blizzard takes blackmailing way more serious than botting xD

@Needa, idk where you got the assumption that if you delete a character it's gone forever, but the idea is cute.
It's just not true tho, they still have the logs ^^
 
Report him for sure and posting your toons name on the HB forums isn't a very good idea.
 
Still it can be traced back to the guy who posted, simply by checking chat logs.
 
Can't believe he is only asking for 1500g. Back on topic i would just ignore it and start playing the char by hand for a week or you could just keep botting if you don't care about the account.
 
Fairly simple answer to this.

So you were botting BGs and I will assume that you're a casual player that doesn't have tens of other WoW accounts running on the same IP. Therefore getting reported would not cause you any trouble as long as you play legit from this point on.
A GM would have to catch you in the act to actually ban you.

What gives you the upper hand here is the fact that GMs cannot accept ANY sort of files or links in a report. ALL evidence MUST be obtained from the Game Master him/herself, thus rendering this idiots video useless.

Report him for trying to blackmail you. Tell the GM you have no idea what hes talking about and you think he is probably sending out that exact message to the masses and hoping to trick as many as possible (same as the people that whispers hundreds of people impersonating a GM).

Give that sucker a slap in the face :)
 
Always, Always Always send 1 copper or something stupid, like gift wrapping and a piece of cheese.

They report you anyway, and GM will ban you just because you paid out.
 
Best bet is to just ignore it and don't reply. He most likely is bluffing and has probably forgot about you. He most likely has sent these to dozens of people and by replying he will only remember which could be bad news for you. Also don't report it as blizzard could look into it.
 
report him say i wasnt botting this guy sent me this message demanding gold or him and his friends get me banned i am so woried i dont no what to do they wont let him away with this for sure.
 
I give him credit for trying. But it will have no effect on you.
