binding shop + forum problem

Hey, i just bought HB and got my key trough the mail. this are the steps i taken and i did read a few guides and i think the binding is the problem.

- i bought the key
- i recieved the key
- i made a shop account
- i add my shop username + password in the forum settings
(my rank stays buddy's, wich should change according to one of the guides)
- i try to login on HB but it said 0/0 sessions
- on the bossland GmbH it says my key is inactive


so if someone could tell me where exatly i should use this key, since it wont let me enter it anywhere or what goes wrong with the binding my shop to the forum?

Use the key on username field and let all the other fields empty
