Can anyone explain how the bgbuddy botbase works? Does it just load default profiles for BG's then have some built in code? Any way I can take a peek at the bgbuddy bot base code and perhaps modify some things or see how some stuff works? I found the old bgbot stuff and it's interesting... I've tried editing some to make it perform better. I just want to have a little better BG logic, maybe not to share, but expand ideas for everyone so we can all have better working pvp bots.

Hi, Ubuntu,

BGBuddy uses different heuristics depending on which battle ground is being used. "Capture the flag"-type battlegrounds work completely differently than "King of the Hill"-types. The heuristic vary wildly, and the bot sometimes uses exotic concepts (e.g., 'heat map') to make determinations. You can get a glimmer into some of what's going on from this article:

Bossland GmbH does not make the source to the current BGBuddy available. However, if you do a forum search you will find other BG bots that people have written over time—Apoc wrote the original one, and Mastahg improved on it. Both are Bossland GmbH developers, and their previous works should be available in the forums. Additionally, some Community members have also written BG bots, but we're not certain whether or not the source is available for viewing or not.

cheers,
