So I was browsing the WoW forums today, and there are endless threads about the high numbers of bots in BGs, and how all the bots use pre-determined paths that make them easy to distinguish. Having used BGBuddy (and seen others using it), I have to tend to agree; I also think that this is really bad for the HonorBuddy community, because when/if Blizzard decides to ***** down on BG Botting, we are all sitting ducks.
Some of the things I notice:
1) Silvershard Mines, jumping down from the start area, your character will turn back and forth several times (always) before moving out to the middle -- dead giveaway.
2) AV, everyone takes the same EXACT path.
Would there be a way to improve the logic & pathing to make this bot less detectable? Is there another option? (BGBot hasn't been updated in forever)
The combat routines are all fine (granted some classes need a custom one), and once in combat HB plays very intelligently, but the problem more lies in "getting to that point". It would be nice if pathing & logic could be randomized more to make it more difficult to distinguish bots from real people.
