BG buddies overpopulating battlegrounds

They are working on fixing it, making it behave randomly, and not just following the pack. I think it is in beta testing for a few battlegrounds already.

Otherwise you can easily change the coordinates of where your bot runs to in the various battlegrounds in your HB folder, if you have the coords.

I haven't done much BG since Cataclysm season ended. I keep hearing about the BG Buddy problem more and more, decided to hold off. I might grind here and there for the honor set.

We all have access to 'Developer Tools' so I think that will work for now.

while i love honor buddy and do use it from time to time i will say that BG buddy is getting out of control I have yet to be in 1 BG that has not had atleast 5 or 6 bots sometimes ill bg and ill be the only non bot in the bg on my side and sometimes on both sides....

its cause there is not any questing profiles people are abusing BG buddy people need to chill and give it a break a little because its getting quite bad on the forums now with people complaing about bots...

i have not used hb for abt 2 weeks now since the BG issue really is so bad now
 
Yea BG Bot could get HB a massive ban wave, Why I am not using it, its just way to easy too know your a botter with 50 other ones.

The little rogue kept typing in chat wondering if one person was multi boxing all of us at once.....LOL....It was funny to watch but kinda sad at the same time....If only BgBuddy would randomize its pathing i think the bot would work great....After the AB i turned it off cause i could see that one person reporting us all, and i dont want banned. So my lession learned here is to not Bot during the night if possible cause im sure we have all seen this during the late night / early morning hours.

I'd love to code the logic for BGs. Imagine AI that would make bots develop strategies that depend on current situation. Imagine bots that would talk to each other in order to agree to a strategy and execute it together as an army of bots (intelligent drones)... Muahahaha...

Right now I blatantly refuse to use BG buddy- it's just too obvious right now and I just am not going to risk it really.

Natfoth is spending a good amount of time on bgs like twin peaks arathi basin and warsong. When you say its still too obvious are we ralking about all bgs or just those that havent been redone yet?
 
The problem is it will always look suspicious unless everyone's bot has a pretty significant amount of randomness to its activities. The problem is not when the bot is fighting other people, but when its not. The video of the EoS and 19 bots isn't really about the bots being the problem its the fact that there are no real people to make the bots look real.

The things comes down to a priority list really...there are times when people ignore targets and run by them with good sense, or stop following someone because you know that they are leading you to your death or won't ever catch them. That's when the bots break down. In all honesty I always thought that BG bots were the worst idea. I mean you are intentionally putting your bot in front of at least 9 other players every single time you queue. It only takes one little thing to go wrong for it be VERY obvious that you aren't human. Out in the wilderness if you're grinding and something like that happens maybe it can correct before anyone can see, but in a BG you have people's eyes on you ALL the time.

It always just seemed VERY dangerous to me.

I've used BGBuddy extensively probably would have the Bloodthirsty by now if I stuck to one character. The movement paths need tweaked a bit and probably some mechanical logic changed. That's really all, it's no more dangerous than using questing bot and getting stuck in a tree. If there are no real players, so be it. If nobody wants to or has the time to spend playing it then that's the way it is.

Umm.. The program you downloaded is called "Honor Buddy". Why should they delete something the bot was based on to begin with? And as far as being out of control, sure whatever. Its just as bad in proffesions and raid assists, you just don't go to the same zone that 20+ other people have qued for everytime. imagine if you had to que for each zone you wanted to go to and you couldn't enter till 20 people qued to then you could do your mining etc. same basics dude, BOT 4 LIFE.

And to all you assholes who report fellow botters, can't wait till you catch a perm ban. This is a community "for assisted gaming :P lol" report something else ffs.
 
When I play in with my friends and there are botter's We report them due too the fact they are useless, Sitting at stables afk is a free win too the other team and when you are TRYING to play its so frustrating seeing people afk

Wow you're full of win. GG for reporting people whom also do what you do. Way to admit to something that is quite frowned upon in the community.
 
I dont BG Bot sooo.. :) Dungeon Buddy botting is fine gather bot is fine Quest bot is fine...But BG Bot is useless in every way of helping out. And when you see 15 people at once point of course your going to be pissed. :)

It doesnt afk for more than a min or so, it afks tell the codeing triggers it to go to the largest pack. Only issue ive seen is real players afking by a flag or bots that gear is so low/broken that they dont help. still, i would rather have bots than players.

on a side note, if they coded the bots to target only human players, this would be win.
 
In the last 3 days I have recorded over 20 bg's where the entire hord team is bots. Its getting out of control
 
the bg problem wouldnt be happening if the rest of the bot program was working...its been like 3 days now and it had to break during darkmoon faire when herb prices would be at peak xD would be nice if this was up and going soon or the occasional / random reply with an eta as to when it will be fixed. i want to buy 3 more keys but waiting until they fix it.
 
this weekend CTA is IOC and in the first 30sec of the game everyone is reporting the 20+ bots in the bgs. The bots get kicked and new ones fill their spots. I think it is only a matter of time till Blizzard brings in the ban hammer. All they need is a gm to come into a bg and watch whats going on.
