Beta Version vs Release

Hey guys,
just a quick question, I asked in the beta forums but didn't get an answer:

"Is the current beta newer than the release version?"
Can you read what the difference is somewhere?

I'm asking since the release version of HB was uploaded after the beta was uploaded.

The beta should always be newer than release otherwise its not a beta

Beta is allways newer than official release, except when there haven't been a new beta released after the last offical release, then the current beta release is the same as the official release and hence beta was uploaded earlier than offical.
