Just wondering what yields the best DPS. Bow + Quiver, or 2h crossbow, or 2x 1h crossbow.

Running a 1000 DPS bow + quiver right now and with SS and Archery i'm pushing 90k DPS in my 900 All Resist gear, but I've read a few mixed explanations of what is best or inferno endgame progression. One thread I read on the battle.net forums was uber confusing stating that the off hand crossbow stats aren't in effect until it attacks, so basically saying that everything on the off hand crossbow is dormant until it attacks and then all the stats on it are applied to your character, then they drop off after the attack is done and switches back to the main hand crossbow. Very weird, and hopefully untrue. LOL.

Thanks in advance for any insight and information!

2h Xbow, only because even if you focused on defense, you will always have to kite.

You need burst damage and high criticals as compared to attack speed.

Stutterstep shoot and run.

Think all that means is there are stats that only affect the weapon like attack speed for example which is already calculated into the dps of the weapon so it wont affect the attack speed of your other weapon. Stacking ridiculous crit damage with 2 1h hand crossbows is the only advantage over using a quiver + 2h i think since quivers already give u attack speed neutralizing the attack speed bonus you get from dual wielding.

Ultimately I don't think the damage drop using 1h hand crossbows is better than 2h bows/crossbows since the best 2h bows/crossbows seem to have much higher dps than the best 1h hand crossbows.

You can equip quivers with 2hander crossbows...

Also, +crit hit damage is king...

i really disliked the atk speed on 2h XBow though. i used a 1350 with 200 dex and an open socket for a while, but I sold it and went back to my 2h Bow with 1100 dmg with 250 dex and an open socket (i was using Perfect Star Emeralds in the open socket). But thats just my preferance. Especially with SS, a faster bow means more shots will be in the initial cluster of the 1sec 100% crit chance. so it felt like i was clearing faster with the 2h Bow no matter how many times i swapped back and fourth.

i suppose if u were to really stack up on AS items (Gloves, Helm, Rings, Amulet, 20% Quiver, etc...) then I would have liked the XBow more once i got back to like 2.2 attacks per seconds. but i lost to many other stats for me to want to go that heavy in Attack speed.

but now, i sold all my old gear for hundreds and just Bot in D3. there really is no end game :( just kill diablo in inferno, feel disappointed and like u just wasted ur life, then sell everything for $1k and feel happy again :)

the best possible setup theoretically is double 1h crossbow with 90% crit dmg+ and socket and 1100+dps. u'd get 100% crit gems. this is really hard to obtain. other than that u can either go bow if u prefer to shoot faster or 2h crossbow if u prefer to shoot one in awhile and do more dmg wit that 1 arrow.

For Sarkoth there is really only one choice, you choose the weapon that gets the largest effect with Loaded for Bear rune. In other words you pick X-bow and nothing else.

yes for sarkoth u just go 2h crossbow with 50% dmg no ias.. so u can one shot, does 1500 dmg blue bows should suffice if u can afford it
