Best professions for maging

Hello again guys, posted a couple days ago with a stupid question so time for another. I decided to purchase this product after about 10 hours use (was very very impressed) and have been leveling my magey - currently around 25. One thing i notice is that money seems to be a bit of an issue - I dont ever seem to make enough money to buy a mount, ive got tailoring & enchanting - but tbh this really isnt that profitable. reading forums should i change 1 or both professions?

I would go with paladin for first toon and get him mining/herbalism.

i always take Skinning as a profession to make money while leveling it always sells sometimes for a lot sometimes for a small amount but it sells so i have money for mounts and gear, then once i hit 80 i ditch skinning and level mining and herbalism and watch the money roll in.

my experience:
tailoring and entchanting are not easy to lvl and cost abit at first. disentchanting gives a lot of mats u will need for tailor. later u can make decent money with tailor - although u need icc10/25 for the higher lvl recipes, desentchanting is always good money. but i would wait till u have a toon at 80.
for a first toon i would use gathering - herb/mining - since the bot lvls by killing i use skinning until 80 and switch after.
other bonuses for your toon
herb - lifebloom
skinning - master of anatomie
mining - Toughness

pala is also a good choice for first bot - well supported(CC's and meshs) and plate
