Sakaroth isn't something i would do.

So now its Core or ACT 2\3 champion runs.

My DH is running Act 1/2 champ runs, and I'm trying to prepare it for act 3.

Lot's of life on hit and 270 base mf.

Wizard works well but requires some tweaks and the correct equip/skills. Barb seems to be easier, trying out one for farming now.

I've used a barb and monk. I've had the best luck with a barb. Going to try a demon hunter next.

Depends on what you are farming, items=barb, gold=demon hunter, unless gearing funds are unlimited the you could realistically outfit any class so that it could work. I have a barb for act one, he is nearly able to do act two by not quite. I have a dh that does hell mode act 1 and make 250k ish per hour (300gf unbuffed) and never die I pick up every thing and vendor it unless it meets some very stringent rules). Pretty much all I keep are legendaries on NM. I keep all tomes of secrets and more items on Inferno, a nice niche is leveling gear and keep a constant stream of items up, at a reasonable price even 2 stat gear sells very well for leveling.

But really it doesn't take much to be able to farm Hell, so any class could be outfitted pretty inexpensively with as much GF and a decent amount of main stat plus vitality.

That being said I'm not really farming for
$. I enjoy the social interaction and have a DH, a WD and a barb that are geared as well for Inferno as my friends are, and I make well enough so that I can give them a few million gold every week. Our social interaction is enough to enjoy enough the challenge of 3-4 manning Act 2-3 Inferno. Also we're anticipating a lot of fun when pvp gets implemented. And there is always our level 50 ish Hardcore toons we've been leveling (mines a barb sheerly because he's tough as nails)...

Barbs for A3 champ (item) hunting, DH for gold farming imo.

1) barb - im only interested in item hunting,
2) have a monk that can farm act 3 but a bit slower and have spent more on it to be able to farm act 3 thats why barb is my first choice if ill add more bots
my dh is pretty much useless since it can only farm act 1 and not really tried gearing for act 3 because it looked expensive

I'm running my Demon Hunter in NM Core of Arreat with ~250GF, 12 radius and 25% Movement and I'm at 260k/hr. From what I've heard from friends running other bots before this I'm not disappointed at all.

I'm playing monk in A2 inferno with 75% GF and I get about 150-200k/hr and that's not including the gear I sell on the AH. I vote monk but I have yet to farm on a barb.

I get 250k-300k gph in A3 inferno + I'm farming items worth millions of gold but he's paragon 70 with low base gf+mf. I'm at around +330% of each I think after 5 neph valor.

Pretty moot argument at this point. A majority of us are already well enough geared that the difference is marginal.

But for arguments sake, if every class had the same budget, and similar "optimal" gear, id say Barbs are still king. With 1.0.5 looming, it may change but i highly doubt it for those that know how to gear their barbs.

wizard is best if you can spend billons, for lower MPs..

Actually, monks are extremely expensive since they compete with DH's.

Barbs are overall very cheap for the half decent stuff and very expensive for the good stuff (since it's downright recuired for them)

Monks are very expensive due to competing with DH, but if you farm the AH right, and choose the proper stats, you can put together a pretty solid one for 10-30M that will farm A3 inferno pretty nicely.

I started out my monk botting in A3 sword and board with about 30k dps, 10k armor, and 1k RA. Each run took about an hour to clear SkyCrown>Stonefort>Battlefields>FoS>Rakkis>Siege. Slow going at first but after about 2 weeks I had farmed up enough gold and items to go back to dual wielding and bring my dps up to about 50k, and cut that run time in half. Since I had gained some paragon, the gold and drops were starting to look really good. Now my monk is at paragon 85, 90k dps 6k armor and 800 RA clearing the big red pack in 20 minutes and pulling about 500k gph+drops, it just took the time to farm up the gear.

but 20min to clear the entire big red isnt. unless you literally plow through eveything without stopping once to fight, which i can see only a WW barb can do since ww moves through mobs.

I have ran Barbs and Wiz since the Sark DH nerfs.. and while both run well, I prefer the Wiz to Barb.. CM Wiz is just a beast. [:

Monk all the way, I get 32mil XP in MP1 and between fleet footed/near death experience/self-heals/shield I can bot mp5 all day with 1-2 deaths/hour.

What I mean is that the only reason for a thread to get bumped is if there is a new post. I saw this thread somehow get bumped for weeks with no new posts. I'm guessing edits bump it as well? In which case....plz close this thread.
