best char to farm with

just wondering...
i got a mage right now and would like to go mine/do herbalism
Some people told me mage sucks at doing so and only getting 50% of what a druid would get.

Is druid really the best char to farm with?
if not: which one is (or which oneS ARE?)
and is mage really that much worse?

Druid is the best, because it doesn't waste time on mounting up. It just shapeshifts into a bird. And the bird is much smaller than normal flying mounts. So you get a lot less stuck.

Yea, druids is best, but not 50% better than any other classes, like a mage
