Disclaimer: My barb is not a sheet DPS barb. It is an efficient barb with well rounded stats that can do mp0-2 with no problems. I recommend mp0 due to speed.
I see a lot of people asking questions about barbs and how they should build their barbs. This guide will help you achieve great results, depending on the profile and your gear level. Generally I average 25-31mil exp/hr and 275-300k GPH using the skyhigh profile. This build is all about 24% movement speed and maintaining enough fury to have run like the wind up as much as possible. The faster you run, the faster you clear, the more gold, exp, and items you attain.
Skills:
Left click: Bash; Instigation. It provides a generous amount of fury per hit.
Right click: Whirlwind; Hurricane. One of the main sources of damage and lets you use your actual run speed.
1: Sprint; Run like the wind. You run fast and leave tornadoes behind that do a large amount of damage and lets you life steal.
2: Warcry; Impunity. Gives you armor, resists, and fury.
3: Battle Rage; Into the fray. 3% crit chance and 15% damage which also builds fury based on your crits.
4: Wrath of the Berserker; Thrive on Chaos. Good for hard champion packs and if you generate enough fury, stays up for a while.
Passives should always be Ruthless, Weapon Master, and Superstition.
These are the basic skills to use for a WW barb. You can change a few of them up depending on your gear level.
Gear:
I generally spend around 25-40m to gear a barb properly to run mp0-2. You can spend more or less depending on how lucky you are or how rich you are.
Main hand: Echoing fury with 950+ dps, 130+ str, and a socket. Shouldn't run you too much, I see lots of the same stats for under 3m.
Off hand: Dagger or sword with 700+ dps, 100+ str, 2.5%+ lifesteal, 50+% crit damage, and a socket. Again, these aren't very expensive for the stats, roughly 1mil.
Head: Mempo of twilight. 150+ str mempo should only run around 2.7-3m. You get 8%+ attack speed, 70+ all res, 10%+ life and a socket. Put a star ruby or higher in here.
Body: Tyrael's Might. 180+ str is only 1m or so. Use this for high str, +12% move speed, 70+ all res and damage to demons which is pretty much all of act3. about 1-5m
Shoulders: rare shoulders with 200+ str, 70+ vit, 70+ all res. Cheap shoulders you can pick up for 500k or less.
Amulet: rare amulet with 100+ str, 100+ vit, 7%+ crit chance, 50%+ crit damage. These can run anywhere from 1mil to 5mil+.
Rings: If you have a str hellfire use it. If not get rare rings with 50+ str, 50+ vit, 5%+ crit chance, 30%+ crit damage. These are fairly cheap as well, 500k+.
Belt: IK belt. 180+ str is the main stat you're looking for. This provides you with 70+ all res, 180+ str, and all important lifesteal. Around 1m.
Gloves: Ik gloves. 170+ str 10% crit chance. Combined with the belt you get the set bonus 60 allres. Around 1m.
Bracers: rare bracers with 50+ str, 50+ vit, 60+ all res, and 5% crit chance. About 2-5m
Pants: rare pants with 80+ str, 150+ vit, 60 all res and a socket or two. These run about 500-2.5m.
Boots: Firewalkers. 150+ str, 75+ all res. This gives you movement speed as well. 1mil+
All in all, you get very balanced stats and depending on your need for HP or damage you can gem differently. This should get you around 550+ all res, 35k hp, 50% crit chance, 350% crit damage, and around 80k damage all unbuffed. This is more than enough to do mp0 very efficiently. I use star gems, and generally nothing higher than that. Always use scoundrel follower as he provides 3% crit chance.
