Info For Barb Act 1 champ farming Gear/Build

I've had alot of people message me asking me questions about setting up their barb, what gear to get and the cheapest they can do. So i figured i would break down the build and gear i use on my barbs in hopes that people may see this thread and find the answers to their questions. First ill start with the gear then move on to the build and setting up Belph combat profile.

GEAR

Helm
90 STR
90 Vit
60 AR
Socket

Shoulders,Bracers,Belt,Gloves,Pants,Chest
90 STR
90 Vit
60 AR

Boots
90 Str
90 Vit
60 AR
12% MS

Ringsx2
50 Str
2.5 Crit
25 Crit damage

Amulet
50 Str
3 Crit
30 Crit damage

Weapons 650 Dps 1handers x2
400 Loh
Socket
Buyout 500k (if you search this you can find weapons cheaper then 500k i went through the list and acutally found 750dps weapon for 60k that met this i bought it and resold it though for 250k)

Now Rings and Amulets are good sorces of dps both rings I searched the ah and can be bought for about 50k and the amulet about 200k. And because you got all the AR you need from your armor these are Inexpensive ways to boost your dps. now that you have 800 Loh between the 2 weapons Put the 70% crit hit damage gems in the sockets this will give you over 200% crit hit damage(with rings and ammy) which is a good and cheap boost to your dps as well.

Build

This is the build i use

First Leap is the single most important and best defensive skill in the game for barbs even better then ignore pain. First its on a shorter cool down then ignore pain and when you leap you get 300% armor which for my barb relates to 95% damage reduction from armor.

Basically you are going to leap in to combat Frenzy till you get enough fury to pop WotB then drop EQ. It then will frenzy and stack up maniac for the extra damage and everything will melt in a matter of seconds.
I use the 2 defensive passives to help stay alive and Boon of Bul-kalthos because we heavly rely on WoTB and EQ for elites.

Here is the settings I use in my Belph Combat routine.

Finaly for an added touch here is links to all the plugins i use.

I use the profile that comes with profile switcher but i take out profile number 7 because DB is having issues getting in to HOA 3.

Well I hope this helps a few people out there.

Ok so a few people have been asking me to do the same thing for my Monk as i have my barb so I will start putting some of the info together Like i did my barb.

This is the build i use

Works really well specialy using Giles combat replacer plugin.

The key to monk is picking 1 resist and stacking that on every piece along with all resist along with Crit on the correct pieces. Since monks do not get any armor bonus or anything from Vit it is not that important over 30~35k hp.

GEAR
Helm
100 dex
40-50vit
40 of what ever resist you want to stack ( i suggest posion because you can get an Adrials visage if you want later down the road)
60 AR
3-5 Crit

Gloves
100 dex
40-50 vit
40 resisit
60 AR
Crit

Bracers.
90 dex
40 resist
60 AR
Crit

Shoulders/Boots/Belt/Chest/Pants
100 dex
40 vit
40 resist
60 AR

Rings
Dex
Crit
Crit damage
(if possible try and find 20 or so of your stackable resist its pretty cheap with out AR on the rings)

Ammy
Dex
Crit
Crit damage

Shield (as much block as you can get)
Dex
Vit
Resist
Crit chance

Weapon
650-700 dps Fist if all possible
Loh at least 500 base life on hit
socket 300 loh gem

My Monk hasnt died in act 1 since i switched to Giles Combat replacer and equipied a shield. and i still do 25k damage and it was fairly cheap to build. Giles Combat replacer is pretty plug and play i didnt have to set anything up on my monk.

Giles combat replacer can be found here

your welcome Ive got my monk running really well too im going to put up the info i have for the monk similar to this.

Thanks Jackie, your first post helped me to farm w/ 0-4 deaths per hour. Keep it up. +rape

Always so helpful Jackie! Thanks.

By the way, how many barbs are you running and I'm assuming no MF gear at all?

He doesn't use MF gear, but if you're able to afford it it's certainly better.
You just need to strike a balance between survivability/dps/MF.

exactly what this devious said. But i actually used 200 base MF on a barb for the last 3 days and still didnt see a difference in drops. My monk with 0 MF got 5 legendaires in those 3 days and the one with 200 base mf had 1. But also was avg about 2 deaths per hour.

watching s1 of grimm with the wife after we finish for the day ill get some info around.

Grimm is filmed in Portland, OR. Where I live ^_^

I've got a 60 monk that I retired when I made my barb. I just equipped him with stuff that I had in my stash that ended up with him having comparable dps, comparable life, and better resists. The big advantage my barb has is in block (39%) and armor. However, the monk had more LOH, so while I figured he might not run as smoothly as the barb, he should at least be able to make it through most of the Act 1 champ packs. Hah! He facerolled...on the floor-at least with the build he was using when I put him in the barn. Looking forward to seeing what Jackie's doing to make his monk effective.

I went a head and Updated the 2nd post with my Monk info. Now if i can get the title of the thread changed to Info for Monk/Barb for act 1 champion farming.

Thank you so much for this. Excellent gear/setup primer.
