Hi Everyone,

This write up is primarily aimed towards USA botters who bot with 1-3 accounts. If your botting with say 4 accounts or more then this thread is most likely a waste of your time but you are welcome to continue reading anyways.

I have been doing a lot of research on *when* Blizzard actually bans accounts in the USA meaning what days and time, whether it be WOW or D3 but specifically D3. I have researched past WoW ban dates and the current D3 ban dates. This theory I have is purely speculative and I cannot say for sure that this is the end all way to predict *when* Blizzard will ban accounts.

D3 launched Tuesday May 15th.

D3?s 1st USA Banwave was June 11-12 (Tues & Weds) which right after Blizzard launched the RMAH but with no commodities. This occurred during the 2nd week of the month.

D3?s 2nd USA Banwave was July 10-11 (Tues & Weds) which right after (Thurs the 12th) Blizzard launched gold sales on the RMAH. Again this occurred during the 2nd week of the month and 1 month exactly after the first Ban Wave.

WOW USA Banwaves from the past dates I have researched have also always followed on a Tues & Weds. But have not always been during the 2nd week of the month.

Blizzard operates out of Santa Monica, California which is as we all know is the Pacific Time Zone.

Now I have heard that some people are getting banned on dates other than those I have mentioned but those are an extreme small percentage and usually very very rare but it does happen.

My predicted theory of when Blizzard will bring down the Ban Hammer is the 2nd week of every month on Tues & Weds right after server maintenance.

Some of you maybe wondering so what? who cares? when Blizzard is going to Ban, the fact is its still going to happen.
Well for me I don?t bot on a ridiculous amount of accounts as I?ve read and seen on most of the forums, so I?m not making tons of $$ like some people are. I bot on 2 accounts only and that is to make enough gold to gear my main account and to sell enough gold to buy beer and new D3 accounts when and if my botted accounts get banned.

Furthermore, about mule accounts. I called Blizzard the other day because I had to update my account info for PayPal. I mentioned to the rep that I had a concern that my Blizzard account info wasn?t matching up with my PayPal account info and I heard that some people are getting banned because of it. The rep was very nice she updated my info and assured me that if someone got banned using the RMAH for conflicting info on the PayPal account that they must have done something else to trigger a ban.

I proceeded to probe her for info about item & gold trading. I asked her can I be banned if I receive items or gold from another player that has been botting? Let?s say for example the player I traded with was caught and banned and prior to that I traded with them, can/will I be banned as well? She said with a solid answer ,?NO?. As long as you are not exploiting, hacking, or botting along with that player any items or gold you receive is yours and will not cause you to get banned.

So there you have it, according to Blizzard you can trade items & gold from a botted account. Because in Blizzards eyes they see you as an innocent bystander. However, if you were to trade items/gold from a botted account to a mule account on the same machine then I have a good feeling the mule account will also be banned, again this is purely speculative.

Anyways back to getting banned. For me, getting banned only sucks because I have to go through the trouble of taking 3 days to re-level up my toons and then go buy new gold find gear. I?m lazy I don?t want to have to do any more than I have to.

So, every Tuesday morning about an hour before server maintenance, I dump all my gear and gold and patiently await my possible ban. If Weds comes and its 5pm Pacific Time and I haven?t gotten banned I go back to 24/7 botting for the next 3 weeks till the next possible Ban Wave.

I hope this write up helps in some way and if not oh well but again this is purely speculative and I truly do not know when exactly Blizzard will ban D3 accounts.

However, I would love to hear back from you guys your thoughts and speculations on this subject.

PS. Am I the only one here that HATES Blizzard?

And the bans could probably related to the authenticator, say if you bot with multiple accounts on one computer then how can you get every account an authenticator? Since most people just uses one cellphone.

My point is, Blizzard could first check if you have an authenticator, if you do then that means this account has less chance to be a botting account, I think those accounts without an authenticator are easier to be flagged, then the next step is to check those flagged accounts see if they have a repeated behavior pattern etc..

Some people say Blizzard has a pattern checker or whatever, but in order to do that, Blizzard's servers have to monitor all the players, as we all know how shitty Blizzard's servers are, I doubt they are able to do so.

You can download authenticators to all your accounts on your computer. I believe you only need to enter the code once a week if you don't change IP addresses.

Sorry but i don't believe the authenticator has anything to do with banned accounts. It is easy to get the Windows Authenticator (WinAuth) which emulates the blizzard authenticator.

I am in the same boat as you OP. I don't have a stupid amount of accounts or even the cpu power / computers to run more than 3 bots. I can't even get past the 450k GPH mark. My main account got banned though so right now im just trying to farm my money back for the x3 accounts + db license. Then turnover enough money for another possible 3 accounts, and possibly start playing the game again once PvP is released and the game isn't crap.

Concerning banwaves, I think the small-timers like us should be safe with muling gold / items to a 'clean' account even if you use the same i.p / machine to log in to the accounts. Most of the people who had their main accounts banned were dealing with 100's of millions a day I believe.

People can view your profile from trade chat which then they can check if you've gathered 500m+ gold then they can report you. I think they work just like a prison (all through snitches, friends and reports). Don't use trade chat, don't add friends you don't trust and block communication of recent players if you have them on your recent list if you joined their game. Honestly they don't have a catch all filter your worst enemy is others in the Matrix who are envious, suspicious or want revenge. The question is what merrits a spot ban vs. getting added to a banwave list?

I think that phone reps know shit and she was just trying to calm you. If they are so well versed in banning techniques why they cant even uban user account, but telling to make a ticket instead ?
