I am a noob, sorry.

Where should you store the badnodes file? What is the structure of the file? How do I know it is loaded by GB?

keep the file in the Gb folder
you can see the structure of the file if you open it with a text editor
and you can see from the debug file if its loaded or not

Thanks for the quick reply! Ok, there doesn't seem to be a default badnodes.xml file in the Gatherbuddy directory. I downloaded a text file from this thread: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/showthread.php?42-MINING-HERB-Icecrown-by-iggi66 and renamed it to .xml.

It has the structure:

<!-- start for Icecrown -->
<bad_location><name>Icethorn</name><waypoint>7224.378 2587.071 393.4442</waypoint><comment>Manual Blacklist</comment></bad_location>
<bad_location><name>Lichbloom</name><waypoint>7224.378 2587.071 393.4442</waypoint><comment>Manual Blacklist</comment></bad_location>
<bad_location><name>Icethorn</name><waypoint>7639.807 3483.229 643.1402</waypoint><comment>Manual Blacklist</comment></bad_location>
<bad_location><name>Lichbloom</name><waypoint>7639.807 3483.229 643.1402</waypoint><comment>Manual Blacklist</comment></bad_location>

I also have this in my log file:

[2:10:15 AM:496]:95 nodes in built in blacklist.
[2:10:15 AM:502]:Error in XmlDocument load: There are multiple root elements. Line 3, position 2.

Does this mean I have done something incorrectly? I have tried searching your website for the instructions but I can't seem to find it. It isn't in the pdf guide or FAQ. Thanks so much for your help!

But you are saying apart from something wrong with this txt renamed to xml file, this is what the badnodes file format should be? (This is what it is from the top of the file to 5 lines down.)

the badnodes file must be an xml file

I don't mean to be difficult but do you have an example of a bad nodes file that I can take a look at? I can then edit mine to that format. Cheers!
