**** Ok - so, not sure WTF was up, but just reformmated the computer and reloaded windows 7. Now it works perfect. ****

ok - its obviously to me it is my desktop.

I disabled the firewall, a the AV, etc - event went to my wireless router and made my desktop a DMZ host - no love, no joy. Pulled out the laptop - worked right off..

now - to try and figure out why it works on my win7 laptop, but not my desktop...
