Archon unbuff after 5 min (for the buffs) plz help rrrix :)

hi, it would be nice if you could imply unbuff (manual with right click on archon)

since blood magic is really good it would help to have this feature that we can use a critdam socked echoing instad of lifeleech socked

at best it would be that he recast archon after all buffs gone and about 10 mobs in range (to get high archon time instant)

i hope i hear from you rrrix :)

dont work anymore :( need help with gilestrinity code

If only Archon could be unbuffed.... I hope the feature is added soon.

Hi guys,

Can you give me a little more info? So if you have super high archon uptime, you want to cancel it after exactly 5 minutes so you can re-buff?

Thanks

rrrix

Yes. It happens in a 15 min Alkaizer run I buff Archon at start and it never exits again until the run is finished.
However, after 5 minutes the buffs expire.

So, what we'd like, is that after 5 minutes after was cast (or 4:55 sec to be sure) Archon is canceled, buffs are recast and then it can go Archon again.

A even nicer, but harder to program way would be, after 5 minutes have passed, to still stay in Archon until 10 or more monsters are on screen. Only then cancel, rebuff, get Archon again and only then start firing at monsters.

And finally, even nicer and harder, seeing there are some buffs that expire in 2 or 4 minutes (the 3 armors), a even nicer way would be that players can customize the time after which Archon is canceled.

But I'd be happy even with a hardcoded 5 minutes cancel and rebuff.

hi rrrix nice to hear from you; for super high equi wizards any 5 minutes unbuff would be ok.

but at best: rebuff after all buffs gone and 10+ mobs arround for a little archon time boost

and ya since blood magic offer like 8% lifeleech buffs are importend now :)

so same as kakaru ~~

another way that would be possible: i found out for one area (like skycrown) he needs like 5 min or less so a XML command that cancels archon would be ok too

gw btw rrrix

Honestly 4 minutes would be a lot better as it is the armor duration when using Galvanizing Ward. Scramble is quite important for keeping the speed up.
Rrrix, archon runs with three buffs, Magic Weapon, Familiar: Sparkflint & Storm Armor: Scramble / Force Armor: Prismatic Armor.
The two first buffs have 5 minutes duration and the armor spell has a 4 minutes duration.

Please don't hardcode it at 5 minutes at least randomize it by 30 secs or so

i only really need magic weap blood magic for flat 8% leech~~

if rrrix cancels archon too often you often end up with 2 min archon coodlown without archon = GG ~~

How about I make it semi intelligent, and cancel it when 2 out of 3 of these buffs (or only if all 3? or only if 1) is gone?

Magic Weapon
Familiar
Storm Armor / Force Armor

We can detect what buffs the player has, so, cancelling Archon (if we have the Archon buff) is easy if we don't have any combination of the buffs above.

A hard 5 minutes seems... like a bad solution :) So how should it work?

It sounds great if you can make it work like that.

Now, there are only 2 choices, and I'll explain why.
1. The armors (Storm/Force/Ice) expire after 2 minutes. That can be extended to 4 mins if user chooses a Passive (G. Wand).
2. Magic Weapon & Faniliar expire after 5 minute.

So:
1. if you cancel it after 1/3 expire, it means you cancel it after the Armor buff expire, at the 2 (or 4) min mark.
2. if you cancel it after 2/3 or 3/3 expire , it's just the same thing as they (MW, Fam) are cast in the same time. It means you cancel Archon at 5 min mark.

Can it be customized by user? The answer of which behaviour is best depends on the Monster Power chosen by user.

If one runs on MP3+ ( like I do) the the first solution is better. When the Armor buff is gone I want to recast it. On MP3+ survivability comes first.

If one runs on MP0 (like OOsauron) the second solution is better. Here DPS comes first. You want to maximize Archon uptime and only recast it after 5 minutes.

SO, the only way to make us both happy would be to allow user to change it :) And by change it I mean edit it, I'm not thinking of creating a GUI for this option. If we could edit Wizard.cs (or whatever file this fix is implemented) to add both behaviors then all Wizards will be more than happy and grateful to you.

I agree, i don't use galvanizing Ward either so the shields only last for 120 sec but an added feature to allow rebuffing would be fantastic.

so archon auto debuff in 120secs > bot currently auto rebuffs > pops archon again.

Thanks in adv.

This is the only missing feature for Archon Bots, if you could make it work, it would be awesome :X

thank you rrrix that will help.

i thought a while about that 5 minute rule (for most areas you need 5 minutes) now the problem: skycrown 5 min hits right before teleport to town -> 5 min rule will cancel archon and recast -> 5 sec after tp -> archon cooldown for 2 minutes

i gues its not that easy :/ one of this 2 aspects should be included:

1. area depended (only cancel archon till 60% on an area never at end) --- same would be an XML function for profils (rebuff archon at start of an area) adds would be great here like [Archontime] = "100" only recast archon if its 100s up

2. situation depended (only cancel archon while high number of enemies on screen) this would be something in wizard.cs and should have ifanythinginrage[30] >= var and Archontime >= var (there is a function for last used i dont remember)

without the right spot for rebuffing archon it will be a curse plz consider this

if you only wanna use a time for this (not the current profil position and not the high mob count for high archon time again) many will hate it (me not i got supi gear :) )

I don't think there will be a problem with a buff based approach like Rrrix proposed.

First, if someone is unhappy, they can go back to the old logic.

Second, even if they do use the new logic, the earliest that Archon is canceled will be after 2 minutes, after the Storm buff runs off. However, after being canceled, the usual routine for casting Archon take precedence, and that is to not cast it unless there are 3 or more enemies on screen. So your worse case scenario of Archon being canceled right when an area was cleared and the bot is taking a portal to town will not trigger the Archon to be casted then 15 seconds wasted during town trip and then you need to wait 85/102/120 seconds to cast Archon again (times different based on skills used)

Third, even if we think at the worst case, if you have Critical Mass (and any one decent will have it) you can get Archon back up in 10-40 seconds. Perhaps will be then our job as old Wizards to write guides for the new breed to understand the mechanics of the class.

so logical path:
1. Is buff (storm) gone?
2. If yes cancel Archon, rebuff all 3 buffs to refresh their timers.
3. Then check how many enemies are. If less than x [current values work just fine, this logical step already exists] then keeep going.
4. However, if enemies more than x cast Archon again [same routine as today].

will suck~~ what you call worst case will be 95% archonupptime now vs 50% after 2 min cancels (you see this after you done with skycrown with 3 min archon time left after it, it normal went down to 1 min in keep2 for ep)

GUI options are easy, and I would prefer the logic to be customizable to the users preferences.

Someone needs to make a flowchart for me, with all the possible GUI configuration options they can dream of. ooasauron are you up for it? :)
