Hi, is there any way to appear offline in battle.net and WoW? I don't want my bnet friends to see me play on 2 chars. (I have main and bot account on same bnet.) It doesn't matter to me if online the 2nd doesn't appear to them or both don't appear. Is there any way to do this?

Lol, i would just delete all those ''friends'' instead. Purge them all.

You'd be surprised how much hassle it is and the relief of just using a separate Bnet account, especially if you're in a top raiding guild and they complain you don't respond.

There was a way of blocking Battle Net (a while ago)... it involved blocking the IP of their servers via the Hosts file or your Router.

For your information, the pertinent IP ranges:
Configuring Router and Firewall Ports - Blizzard Support

It's been a while, let me see if I can find what to do...

(1) well it looks like blocking port 1119 no longer works (apparently Blizzard changed fixed this).

(2) there was a tool on a forum with the name that rhymes with ownedpaw but that's effectively in hiatus (presumably because Blizz changed/fixed the loophole); the tool would effectively turn on/off port blocking of the relevant battle net IPs. Not sure if we can post links, but if you Google this you'll find it.

TLDR there were ways of blocking Battle Net IPs (so you could appear offline) but it seems Blizzard changed the game and the old methods no longer work. The IPs are listed in the eu.battle.net link above however for anyone that wants to try blocking the IP ranges manually.

Best of luck!

When I used Peerblock / Peerguardian, it prevented me from logging in, entering instances or even changing zones. Now this was last Dec. 2015, so things may be different now.

Curious if anyone has found a solution for this. Would also like to be able to appear offline while still logged int.

I believe your still able to setup parental controls and disable Real ID when you want to.
