Anyone Still gonna bot after 4.0.6

I bought the bot to level up and do professions and stuff like that. Not make gold.. though I am sure that could be fun too, make your wow money back.. I am usually at the computer when I am botting (watching a movie or something) not that this makes it in any way 'better' or more 'ok' but it gives you better reaction time if someone talks to you, or if someone else is herbing in the area etc.. if you feel like something might go wrong you could always either limit yourself, and be at the computer, OR you could not bot for a couple weeks.

I really think blizz added something in this patch to detect hb just a gut feeling.

u do know that blizzard doesnt need a patch to change warden right?

I'm still going to bot, the worst thing that happens is I lose the account I just leveled from 40-80 using HB over the past week.

true you dont need a patch to update warden but that doesnt mean they didnt put something else in, im pretty sure most all major bans glider and the one hb has was not warden related it was something they put in the patch.

Now that blizzard made the update I know we are not playing the bot till devs patch hb but even after that anyone still a little scared to bot, I wonder what secrets blizzard put in there patch

Agreed. Devs must be having fun :(

I would also like to say which is a little wierd here Why does everyone say they don't care if they get banned and loose there account,PEOPLE accounts cost money when did this shit grow on trees. I never understand that. U pay monthly too we spend tons of money on the game then get banned and repeat it makes no sense. Someone please explain this theory on this forum. I mean I have a job and i don't want to be buying account after account. Thats just giving Blizzard more money so they can do it again

Usually, for most of the people saying that, they are farmers and sell enough gold and make enough money off of WoW to purchase multiple accounts with money from their earnings. So really, it's not really losing money. You can purchase accounts from the chinese companies pretty easy and for cheap. Usually trading them a certain amount of gold will get you all the way up to a cata expansion.

Are u serious people make money on this game, ok that makes some sense then but for the rest of us. That is kinda ruff.

I agree, but there is a huge profit for running multiple accounts with multiple bot sessions. Anyone else that doesn't use this service to make money, well...I can understand why getting banned would be a huge deal.

such as? Sorry for being such an incredible waste of human space and not having been here for as long as a super moderator, but could you point us to some older threads that contain great words of wisdom so that us new customers can be enlightened? I did a search and read some pages and couldn't find anything pertaining to new patches and the risk of botting directly after one.

If you feel this way, then you probably shouldn't be botting. You value your account too much, and if you bot you will eventually get tagged.

People bot for many reasons, but two of the more frequent are:
  • Gold selling
Won't go into this, as its a great way to get banned. Gold sellers play a statistics game, knowing their accounts are very likely to be banned, but they can offset their operating costs with their profits.

  • Botting for fun
For many of us that have been playing WoW since beta or opening day, WoW has simply lost its lustre. We are looking for new ways to entertain ourselves with the game. We've already exhaustively played the raiding game, the social game, the free-market game, the collection game, the achievement game, the pwn-the-other-faction game, etc. that is encapsulated by WoW. We are looking for new ways to stay entertained.

Botting has a certain thrill associated with it. It moves you 'out' one level. Rather than micro-managing your toon, you now direct your army. Kindof like moving from 'grunt' to 'manager' in real life.

There is also the thrill of the cat-and-mouse game in the botting world: "How long can I go without getting tagged?". There are safe ways to bot and unsafe ways. Many people here have been botting a long time, and never even seen a suspention.

Some just enjoy supplying their guild/friends with mats so they can maximize their enjoyment in the game.

Some of us are just fascinated by how far the technology can be pushed.

For people botting for fun, we'll just roll another account if our joy is incomplete, or we'll try a new game for entertainment. The loss will be mourned, but we'll quickly move on.
There are tons of other reasons that people bot. In short, botting is a sport/entertainment in and of itself. WoW is just the vehicle used by these forum members use to obtain our enjoyment.

But to bot, is to constantly have the possibility of a ban hanging over your head. If you don't embrace this, you need to be looking elsewhere for entertainment.

cheers,

Well if you like playing wow you shouldnt bot anyways because soon you will bot more then you play and next thing you know playing will be boring

I disagree. Personally I bot so I don't have to play the parts of the game that I don't enjoy that much (farming, leveling, etc) So for me botting makes the game more fun and less boring.
