Anyone else leveling a DH with HB...

...turn off Fel Rush and Vengeful Retreat because it just results in a ton of deaths, getting stuck, and somehow ending up off of the mesh?

Which CR are you using?

The default CR, so Singular I guess.

When running my DH AFK, I usually turn them off if I'm running Havoc. Leveling wise, I found vengeance to be the better spec anyway though. A little slower on killing stuff, but I was practically unkillable myself even if I pulled big groups of mobs.
