They killed me mid game with the standard your account has been suspended popup. Whatever. I know I got reported in one game by some jackoff do-gooder who apparently got both teams to report me all together. Oh well. That was just a shitty level 7 account anyway. I'll make another one of those in a weeks time. Fuck em!
Details: (Form pulled from the HonorBuddy forum as apparently we don't get a form for this "backburner" bot.... lol)
1)Were you using Honorbuddy, Gatherbuddy or both on the account?
Neither! Tankbuddy Fool! Well, ok... Honorbuddy is also running with ARelog controlling it but thats another story all together.
2)Which version (and Beta or Release)?:
Release
3)If so, when was the last time?:
10/14
4)What profile were you using?:
The ones I found on the forum, such as they are, outdated.
5)What combat class were you using? if None Just put Default then the Classname:
Regular Tank routine for 1 tank, Artillery routine for 5 arty.
6)What plugins are you using?:
Plugins? lol uh uh, sure. As if.
7)How many hours per day did you bot for?:
As many as I could before it automagically D/C'd sometimes an hour, other times all night long. Tis truly a mystery why the bot does this. Then again the devs blame it on the game, even though it never has ever not one single time happened without the bot running. Weird, I know. /giggle
8)What honest percentage of time did you supervise your bot?
As little as possible. I didn't buy it to watch it play a game for me. I buy bots so I dont have to be there dicking off with it when I could be doing other things. So I don't know... Maybe 15%? Tops.
9)How many auctions per day did you have?:
Hundreds, but thats a different game.
10)Did you Use Any Other Bots, Hacks, or Mods?
Nope. Apparently this bot is the only game in town sadly. If I knew of one that worked, I would have jumped ship a long time ago. With the numbers of players that are currently and after the "Fury" movie promotion attracts a whole horde of new players, to me it makes sense to add some more dev power to this bot for a little while, but like I have said countless times, the only thing this bot gets is a quick offset update and away it goes. Basically we have one dev, occasionally, and one mod for the bot, sometimes. Which whatever, it is what it is, its just a shame.
11)Was your account involved in gold selling?
Negatory.
12)EU or US realm?
US-East
13)Is the banned account a Scroll of Resurrection or an actual paid account?
Paid, as for some reason you have to have either gold or premium on your account for the bot to work. Yes, you read that right. lol
As this was mostly a comic relief version of my story, the fact remains I did in fact get banned. I have been banned in so many games for so many reasons across the years I never give it a second thought when it happens, it just comes with the territory. Never bot an account you can't bear to lose is the golden rule of botting, and always has been. I actually laughed about the ban when I saw it, I was like well shit, it's about time! As I was very much abusing the bot and not even remotely following safe botting protocol, because frankly I was bored with the game. That being said, had the bot had a ALICE plugin or similar to the one for Honorbuddy, it could have talked in game more and not looked like a complete bot to everyone all the time. Then again, there a ton of things that would make this bot better and less bot-like, but I'm still no programmer, that's what I pay you guys for. KK, time to start it back up and see how far we get this time. Now my interest has been piqued again. I want to figure out exactly how they are detecting/banning. If it is solely through player reports, or what. I imagine it is like any other game, if they get a big list of reports on a player, some jackoff eventually gets around to doing an in game investigation of the account. Once they are watching your tank play, it takes around 10 seconds to determine that it is in fact a bot. I can spot a botter in pretty much any game. It's not hard if you are a user.
Cheers! See ya soon! lol
PS:
They said in the email I may be eligible for an account wipe, where they remove everything but premium tanks and whatever gold you have left on the account. I of course having a sense of humor petitioned for this action, solely for my own amusement. It's always fun to argue with GM's. Frankly, I could give a shit about the account. I can make another one in 30 sec via a disposable email account, throw $2.99 of gold at it for TL to function (still scratching my head on that one.... maybe TL is in bed with WG and they have some sort of agreement?! gahaha) and off I go. I will however, be interested to see if they keep track of anything, such as MAC addys (my IP is dynamic, so that's useless to them) or anything else of the sort.
I always type so much when I'm high. lol
