first off nice to meet all of you! give you all a little of my wow history here...

ive been using honorbuddy for a little over 4 years, started a year into Cataclysm. used it mainly for farming mats herbs and ores then once I figured out what all it could be used for I leveled toons, did quests you name it.

I got greedy and started letting the bot farm mats at least 16 hours a day, every day. I eventually got my first ban...explotive activity...I opened a ticket told them I was no gold farmer blah blah blah they gave me my account back.

I then mainly leveled toons and manually farmed mats, didn't sell much a day maybe 10 auctions or so. I played on and off for the next 18 months, got MOP when it came out used the bot to level all my toons to 90, played for a little over a year after that with a few breaks from the game here and there. started getting bored so I botted up tons of mats, had lots of auctions. I was just asking for a ban and I eventually got it....a permaban.

I quit playing for about 7 months and debated ever going back to wow...I had lost my main account I had for over 7 years! I didn't want to start over again. the only reason I didn't quit entirely was I still had my mounts and pets and achievements on my battlenet account and a lot of BOA gear so it made starting over a lot easier than I thought it would, so I made 1 toon and focused just on it.

I played and botted that toon for 6 months, took an almost year break for new job, etc...came back in april of this year got WOD and used the bot again to level up. I then got caught in the may banwave didn't play for 6 months got my account back in November played till I got caught again in the December banwave. got an 18 month suspension.

so a few days ago I thought of something to try...I do not like playing manually after all these years with the bot and wont play without but still like the game for friends and memories.
.
I bought a new account for 4.99 and I'm leveling it with the bot, I'm not going to buy the WOD upgrade and I'm not going to buy anymore gametime after my 30 days are up.

I am going to buy another account for 4.99 and level it up same process as above. I'm trying to see if blizz will still ban these accounts. I know they want us botters that's been caught to buy the game and the WOD upgrade and some more gametime after the original 30 days are up. it costs $32.47 for everything so they make twice as much off of us than they do non botting accounts, if they do bans once a month. its definitely a business strategy by blizz, they know most botters wont quit and that the ones that have lost their main accounts don't care anymore so they lowered the costs of everything to encourage them to come back and start over.

so for awhile I'm going to pay just 4.99 a month to play wow and if a few of those accounts survive I may upgrade and get WOD and more gametime.

like I said just an experiment...

Sounds like the same thing I'm doing. New to botting, but reading the forums, I bought 2 of the 4.99 accounts. And running 2 different bots on them to see if either will get banned. I'm not touching my main account with either bot as I really don't want to have to start over. If either account does get banned, I will be willing to post when, what I was doing and which bot.

cool deal, ill be updating too. ive been wondering if the bans are gonna start happening monthly...its always been a day or so after my subscription renews.

My story could be the exact same as yours, I am sitting on 3 banned and 1 suspended account. Just made another for the $5, and then upgraded to WOD is only $12. With that I get an account all they way up to 100 and a free level 90 AND 30 days free gametime. RAF to a 2nd account, and I already have 3 lvl 100's. If they ban me, who fucking cares? 17 dollars and I have a new account and 1 month gametime. May the bans be few and far between!

let me know how long it lasts

Well I don't know if this pertinent to the current conversation but I thought I would share this. So have 2 new accounts and I'm leveling today and low and behold a toon from my banned account shows up in my guild chat. So I run malware bytes in he background to make sure I don't have any nasties on my comp and nothing. Check my cell phone and my account is logged out (you can still view your banned account in the cell armory). Anyone seen this recently?

did that toon happen to be a guild master? I'm asking cause just recently, a friend came back to play wow after almost 3 years and we were the only ones in guild...so when they came back it logged on my old banned toon and promoted them to guildmaster and demoted my banned toon to the lowest level...has blizzard always done this?

Little off topic but after this last banwave on that Tuesday they charged me for the monthly and five minutes later banned me....I reported it to PayPal and they refunded me lol

i just bought 4 news accounts all upgrade to WoD yesterday , got them all to 100 now(24/7 botting ) , sending them all to BGs to gear them up to 700 more or less , then gonna start farming in tanaan jungle again , if they last even a week i have got my money back by farming gold and selling it , and use some for personal , (80 EUR[for accounts] +100 EUR ) you can easily make 1.4M(EU-Silvermoon-Ally Side Prices) over a week and you can sell 1M from 500 euros max(very unlikely) to 80 eur min to chinese ) , anyway gonna report here how long they last

was in a LFR last night and someone posted the interrupts from recount, my character had 30 and the next highest was 4, I never thought to check for something like that.

I think it was obvious to the person who posted it that I was botting, I immediately turned interrupts off!

This isn't an experiment by any means. What you are doing is exactly what the average botter is doing. Additionally, even if you get banned on 2 accounts, you've gathered nowhere remotely close to sufficient data to claim anything conclusively.

These posts pop up all the time. People think that they're going to be able to prove something when they're doing "experiments" with 1-3 accounts. You simply can't get any actual data on such a small sample size.

It's sad that this has to be repeated over and over and over, but here we go again...

Blizzard is not static in their ways. What they do one month may change drastically the next. Blizzard gives their GM's authority to take whatever action they see fit, meaning that a GM having a bad day may permanently ban all your accounts on a first offense and some other GM that got laid last night may just give you a 3-day suspension. You can't prove anything in a system like that other than the system is random at best.

its just a personal experiment, I wanted to see how long this account can go before being banned. I'm not botting it to make tons of gold or farming tons of mats. mainly doing raids and dungeons. no BGs or PVP

plus I don't think they will ban me until I renew my subscription.

5 accounts nonstop 24/ since we started this, no bans. 1-100 and then running 5 man dungeon buddy since, nothing as far as ban so far. But I agree, the instant I go to renew, they are probably toast lol.

Definition of useless. If you don't like what people are doing, try minding your own business.

I don't believe you actually know what the definition of useless is then...

And maybe you should take your own advice. If you don't like my posts, mind your own business and keep quiet.

If you don't care what the OP is trying to do then why bother getting on his thread and bitching

Bitching? Who was bitching? I don't think explaining to someone that their experiment is no different than what a normal botter does day in and day out and that nothing can be proven by said "experiment" is bitching in the least bit.

You see, people propose silly "experiments" on these forums all the time, thinking that they'll come to some definitive answer to how blizz handles bans. As I said in my previous post, there's absolutely no way anyone here will able to be able to prove anything, other than the actions blizz takes is random at best.
