AMD or Intel processor for multi botting?

recently bought a fx8350 running 5 vms im at 35-40% cpu as soon as i have time to level the remaining 4 copies ill give an update. might not be the best cpu for gaming but certainly gets the job done for botting (though id propably go intel if i dindt already own a amd based rig)

if you build a computer ONLY for botting. take e3-1230v2. and ASUS P8Z77-V LK.
as i know, it is the standard cpu for the pro farmers' workstation in china.

Damn it! I built an i5-3570k in that motherboard for botting. Wish I had known about that CPU.

On the other hand, I think I read somewhere about someone doing some testing and finding that D3 didn't care much about hyperthreading, the threads weren't optimized for it and it essentially didn't help. I wish I could find the link, but if someone is agonizing over i5 vs i7, they may want to research that topic before deciding. 8 threads does not mean that they can each perform as well as 4 threads; running 2 threads per core is a way to maximize context switching efficiency and does not increase performance significantly in all workloads.

Xeons have locked multipliers, they have very little headroom for overclocking.

1 person posts about a random chip and mobo and people splurge over it lols.

HT is not important for gameplay, but muti bots are something different.
we dont care about 15 or 60fps on each bot, or maybe some lag, but we do care about 15 or 60 we can have. (ppl take amd8150/8350 because of this.)
that is the different between some super cores and mega crap cores. and 1230v2 is not crap, it is like i7 2600, but removed graphiccard for workstation.
and if you have 2 i7 computer for muti bots, you can have 3 e3-1230v2 with such money. and amd is more cheaper.

You'll only benefit from hyperthreading if you are running D3s in a bunch of VMs. But that is a huge waste of resources and for the ultra paranoid.

i had a amd procesor i switched to intel i was a amd fan man intel is so mutch better im running icore5 3.4 ghz atm and a asus ati 7950 direct cu II and 12 gigs of ram corshair 1tb and i love intel its so mutch faster with gaming then amd get a 1155 cpu of u go for intel

yes, Xeons is for workstation, it almost can not OC.

and yes again, dont buy something just because someone said something.
im not good about hardware, i just read some toptip from some good chiese hardware forums.
some bosses of workstations ask the same questions, before they buying computers. and some ppl answered.
but that can be fake, mybe made by some hardware seller, who is stucked by e3-1230.

btw, e3-1230v2 has the same price as fx8150 in china.

Just wont wast much any words...

My i5 runs 9 vmwares at 5ghz...
My friend i7 can easily run 15-20bots...

AND CHINESES USE 3930k!

Xeon 1230v2 is slower then the i5 3570k in all ways, its an old chip thats all... "socket 1155 itself is bad"

If u wanna try some xeon u need dual socket e5 2620 (850u$) for same performance as the 3930k... (500u$)...

XEON MULTIPLIERS ARE LOCKED. ty

you are talking about bots/computer, pro farmer think about bots/100$.

Sure mate, xeon 1230v2 system goes for 1.5k.

The i7 3770k system goes for 1.5k too.

Xeon system runs 6 bots, i7 system runs 20 bots.

At my point, I should just confirm what u said and lie saying that xeon is better... so I would see less people farming.

1230v2=200euro here, and 80-100euro for MB,150 for ram, 40euro PSU, 30euro case,
as i know, this is what the pro farmers have. about 600$. im sure, they run atleast 15 bots on it.

i forget the graphiccard. maybe +150$.
