Alot of Bans Lately?

well my 2 bots are botting since 4 weeks up to 18h / day and no one get banned :D
My Gold seller account sold with 1 Character ~500k Gold and still no ban :D

Since I started out as a noob botter last year and did some stupid things that got me suspended, I've had no problems.

Of course,

1) I haven't sold any gold
2) I don't run my bots 24/7
3) I don't run my bots on the same computer with the same IP
4) I don't use grind mode
5) If I do happen to PvP, I baby sit it
6) I don't post 1000 auction a day on the same account
7) I use profiles that I have personally baby sat for the first run so that I can document any problems they encountered, then make sure that I am around to baby sit subsequent runs through those problems.

I honestly believe they are tracking the bot. I tried real hard to get my 72 hour suspension overturned but they wouldn't have it. The reason:

""When running, the World of Warcraft client may monitor your computer's random access memory (ram) and/or cpu processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft. An "unauthorized third party program" as used herein shall be defined as any third party software, including without limitation any "addon" or "mod," that in Blizzard Entertainment's sole determination:
...
...
...
Following a review of your case, we can confirm that such program has been used on several occasions by your account, and that the subsequent action taken is appropriate. We would not look to enter into any further communications on this issue as the matter is now considered closed."

I don't think they are stupid to insta ban everybody they catch running the bot because it would mean a big loss of game subscriptions for them, but i think they're stepping up recently with the 72 hour suspensions to try deter people from continuing to use it

When someone is doing 3000 moves that are the same over a 1 hour period because it is your path, this identifies you as a bot but they aren't actually finding the bot itself, so if you get one report and they check location, time and what not thats what screws you over.

If they were tracking the bot then everyone that uses it would be banned.

my advice to you all ... DO NOT USE SHORT PROFILES!!!!! ... you will get banned SO FAST with short profiles ...

If you want to bot, assume there is a real chance of your precious little account being banned. If you can't run that risk, don't. Since Glider, everyone has been asking these questions - the answer still stands: People get banned, no one but Blizzard has any exact numbers or counts, so posting on a botting forum won't really get you anywhere, as I doubt Blizzard will reveal their methods to you - least of all on a public thread.

Bottom line: Don't bot what you can't stop losing.

And to answer your question: It is natural that the number of bans is increasing, considering the mass increase in the amount of botters over the past few years. Also, the amount of young retards who are completely careless with their botting is also increasing, meaning that when they do get struck by a banhammer, everyone on the entire forum is certain to hear of it. Therefore, I believe you only hear so much more about bans now is that so many people were botting without realizing the possible consequences of their actions.

And also - to end on a positive note - I have been botting since the Glider days (several years) on my main accounts. I have never even recieved a warning. Point: Many people bot smartly, and they are the ones who survive.

1 question. If i get banned on wow, can i play other games on my account, like D3?

1 question. If i get banned on wow, can i play other games on my account, like D3?
Yes, only your that wow account is banned, not the battle.net account. So you can still have full access to other games on the b.net account. :)

Yeh, for instance on one of my B.net accounts I have 2 wow accounts, 1 of the accounts has been perm banned, and the other I can still use.
:)

if u ask me ... i think we are going to get banned sooner or later. the way i see it. i got reported and nothing happend. so i`m thinking ... maybe i wass added to a banwave list ? ... and i`ll get banned in 1 month maybe or something like that ... lol ... what do u guys think ?

Please, try to get your facts straight before you say something.
How do you know you got reported? The guy was maybe just testing you?
What if when the GM took a closer look on you and you were playing by hand then?
We're not here to make assumptions you know.
