Pay for everything? You don't have to pay for anything of what is posted on this forum. All you see here is free. If there's some kind of functionality that you need you can ask Mastahg or a community developer to see if they're willing to make it for you, or in the case you can code you could try make it yourself too.

If Neverdyne wants to release his work for paid he can do, nothing says he has to post it here just be glad that he does. If you want it now go pay for it, if not wait and see if it comes here. Agil and Lib must take up a huge amount of time get working.

I've never really been a fan of selling plugins separately. I mean, you wouldn't be making any money off it if it weren't for the original bot dev supporting the bot. No bot, no plugin. He should get a cut. If you're not going to update plugins without payment, fine, but if you're going to accept payment, it's silly to keep it all for yourself when your lifeline is the bot.

If he is getting a cut, then I don't mind.

Thats what the contract with the buddy store is. The issue is bossland hasn't shown intentions of moving it to rebornbuddy so thats not happening at this time.

We can also say that without plugin and users script, the bot is pretty much useless... Not everyone is capable of #c programming :)

Exactly. Obviously no one can deny that community devs are dependent on the bot. I'm less sure how much people consider how crappy the bot would be in its base form, without plugins, profiles, and with Kupo (haha) as its only routine. All of which is written for free by community devs who bossland almost seems to go out of their way to alienate.
You can argue that bossland should get a cut of plugin/profile sales because they provide the bot foundation. Extending that logic, shouldn't plugin/profile developers get a cut of RB sales for actually giving it real functionality and making it something people want to buy? Not that I'm arguing that should, or ever will happen.

I agree with you, it's the logical thing. We asked for a store a long while ago, but they told us very clearly that it doesn't interest them for Rebornbuddy due to the low user base. So that's that I guess. I know that a lot of users where also against the idea of a store, and that's fine. I'm leaving everything I made back then here, and it's basically open source. If someone wants to update and support it for free, go for it. It's just that I personally couldn't justify the time I was putting into it any longer.

Guessing that means Lisbeth 2.0 is not happening? That makes me sad.

Lisbeth 2.0 is being updated for HW next, I believe.
 
Yeah, as y2 said I'm working on Lisbeth now. Lots of things changed for HW.
 
Would it be feesable to have a basic plugin for free users and a more feature rich plugin that could be sold through a personal site? That way you have both areas covered, Bossland still have features through the bot itself and the community devs get to make a crust...?
