After newest adventurer update GR is not working

I was advised by tony to put my thread here instead of support. After the latest patch, my greater rift is acting funny. It runs the GR, completes it, upgrades the gem, and then ports to town. But instead of turning in to Orek so the rift closes, it goes into the open rift again and looks for enemies... do I have some setting that is wrong? Please help, thanks.

I have the same exact issue where bot re-enter the rift after it's completed.
 
I believe this is how it's supposed to work, tell me if it's doing something different than this:


  1. Create GRift
  2. Kill Stuff
  3. Kill Rift Guardian
  4. Upgrade Gems
  5. Teleport to Town
  6. Empty out backpack (Stash, Trash, Kadala)
  7. Go back into GRift to pick up remaining gear and bloodshard
  8. Teleport to town
  9. Talk to Orek
  10. Perform any remaining TownRun responsibilities
  11. Start back over at step 1.

There are several reasons why this happens. Mostly to ensure that nothing is forgotten in the GRift.

  • If you're already full on Blood shards and there are still some on the ground.
  • Your inventory is too full to pick everything up directly after the RG kill.
  • If there was an issue upgrading gems, I have seen it completed on the second trip into the GRift, usually on follower bots.
  • If you're running a group of four bots, it's insurance that the leader doesn't close the GRift with gear still lying on the ground.
    [*=1]This is really important because in a group, sometimes you don't always get to complete TownRun steps or do it often enough.

The combat happening on the second trip is a symptom of good planning.
If you go back into the GRift and find an enemy starts attacking you, combat needs to be ON or you will never get back to town.
Not getting back to town means no EXP or gold form completing the GRift

Far as I know, Trinity will use your combat settings to determine what to attack on the second trip in...​


  • [*=1]If you have trash set to 150+ yards ignore, 1 mob grouped within 100 yards... it's going to find a lot of stuff to attack.
    [*=1]If your settings are more modest, you will see less combat.



TL : DR:
It is setup this way to prevent gear and bloodshards from being left behind.

The combat prevents the bot from being stuck in a Rift/GRift due to enemies coming after you.

Actually, if you watch closely, you will notice that the bot always clears an area intentionally before trying to teleport.

This setup is the most effective way to solve actual previous problems that were killing botting efficiency.




 
The steps you listed is what the bot is supposed to do.

However, In my case, the bot completes all the steps up to 5 after it upgraded the gem.

What it does next is that the bot teleports back to town and go straight right into the rift portal without clearing the backpack.

Normally, when the bot is going back to the rift to pick/clear what's left in the rift, the bot usually take the teleport portal it generates in step 5

But in my case, the bot goes back into the rift through "the actually purple rift portal"

It seems like the bot skips step 6 to 10 and goes back to step 1.

Since the rift portal is still open ,because it never talk to Orek to actually complete the rift, the bot re-enters a rift that's already been cleared and wonders around looking for mobs.

I've checked my trinity setting and nothing seems out of ordinary.
 
Thanks TwoCigars for replying, i reinstalled DB and running Trininty only. It's working fine so far... but when I had the GR problem it's exactly what hanktheman explained, the bot would not talk to Orek to close the rift, it went straight back to beginning of rift.

So i assume you are using the new version where you don't use adventurer as a plugins anymore but a function in trinity? I might give it a shot later.
