Accounts being appealed

So I'm aware of people being banned, and able to appeal the accounts through their support on the official website. But out of curiosity, has anyone received an actual 'response' from them other than the automated one getting their permanently banned account lifted?

I know there are games out there that lift bans, and didn't know if Niantic would be one of them.

Cheers

I don't think anyone cared enough to do that lol. I mean just plugin a new account and days later you have a brand new account that is just as good.

^^ +1 it's a free game. Create new account, play, bot, lvl up, get banned....repeat.

Trainer,
We have received your appeal. Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone. Use of any other third-party software or app, including but not limited to scripts/apps, applications used to falsify your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner is considered cheating.
Please consider your account permanently terminated unless we reply back to your appeal.

the mistake you're all making is appealing a ban when you're experiencing connection issues, no where has it been released by the company that you have been banned, your accounts are all still active, thats the reason you cant use the same name, not only that but legit non botters have also had the same problem one of my accounts i didnt bot is also having the connection error, when you open a ticket request with there support list it as a connection issue not a ban or you might as well email them saying yeah i was botting sorry wont do it again...

I opened a ticket friday on both my accounts, im assuming they dont work weekends or they just have a very poor manned customer support service as ive not had a reply yet and the status of my report is still queued

All I said on the appeal was that I had read that accounts were being banned, I could not log into my account, please un-ban me.

99.99999% sure I got banned on 2/4 accounts. Those banned accounts show "Failed to get game data from server" msg and then immediately sign me out.

When you can recreate the exact same situation and log on with another account it shows its no longer a connection issue. They're just being shitty about communicating what they're doing, yet again, and basically banning people without telling them.

Can you really blame a company for not informing you they caught you and banned you? Really?

Pretty sure companies "have" to inform you if you're banned. I didnt open a ban appeal but a log-in issue.

Why would companies have to inform you? You dont own the intellectual property of your account. This has been discussed a thousand times over the last ten years or so.

how many times have they had server issues that effect only a certain % of players? ohh wait since the game was released..

niantic have clearly rushed the games release and made a huge balls up about it. When i see a message or receive a message saying i was banned then thats final, until then i keep seeing connection problems the same as everyone else there for its not a ban its another one of the giant fuck ups caused by niantic

Whether they have to or not every other company does. It's called customer service, because even if you cheated you still were a customer of theirs, you still gave them money in one way or another, and there's still a chance they made a mistake and banned you for nothing. They took the time to set up an appeal page but they haven't announced to anyone that they got banned, so what's the point of the appeal page?

If the said company, which has a lot of bugs and such that their "customer service" people have to deal with, see your appeal and find out you got banned, confirm it as not a accident, and dont inform you cause they have real non-cheating customers to attend to then what's the problem?

To your first question, yes I can blame them, since there's no notification of a ban, how do I know what's going on at all? Secondly, if you spend money on virtual goods, you should have notification that you no longer have access to those virtual goods. Third and lastly, any decent company would in fact notify people that they have violated their ToS, it's just the right thing to do. If you treat your customers like shit, you should expect they act like assholes.

Any decent customer wouldn't cheat and make other customer's enjoyment of company's said product unenjoyable. So I don't really see where you are coming from. Also you have no right as a consumer to virtual goods. In any country or in international law. So why do you have a right to something that hasn't been given? I mean seriously? You were probably banned for cheating and you seriously wanna complain? And if you weren't banned and it's a server issue then it'll be ratified by their "customer service" and "technicians" and you can come back or PM me and tell me how stupid I am.

has anyone actually received a message saying that they have been banned? NO! i thought not.. you're all getting connection problems shock horror its not exactly uncommon on this game as theirs been a server failure or problem occur every week since the release, They sell virtual in game items, you are a customer, so yes they have a right to inform you about the status of your account.
Every game provides a Email notification or a log in notification if you get caught cheating, Even a game as shitty as Runescape send you an Email

What they need to do is stop adding grass to the background of the pokemon picture and start working on there customer service, when i first made my account it took them 4 days to reset my password..
Dont expect anything from niantic to be done instantly.

What I was saying, to clarify since you haven't understood thus far, is that we have no right as cheaters to get mad if we are banned and they didn't inform us. Also since a lot of accounts are having this issue (new accounts minutes to hours after making them) and no one I know in real life has this issue I think it's safe to say we are the "control" group in this experiment.

My one account that has been inaccessible for 2 days now still has a pokemon in a gym down the street. I just can't log into that one account. Seems if they perma banned it, the pokemon in that gym would vanish. but who knows. no appeal from me, I will just wait and see.
